These Hollywood celebrities were seen flaunting outfits from the Seoul-based contemporary fashion brand, Dunst, not as a promotional endeavor but for personal wear. Another Seoul-based brand, SONGZIO, was approached by Black Panther actor Winston Duke, along with American singer-songwriter Ty Verdes and American hip-hop rapper Playboi Carty.
Industry insider Song Ji-oh stated that South Korean stylists are being approached by Western celebrities a lot lately.
"These cases are those where people first contacted us and said, ‘They want to try on clothes,’ and we provided them with clothes."
BTS Jin's impact on the global fashion industry inspired Hollywood stars to follow suit
Herald Economy reported that influential Korean celebrities like Jin of BTS act as promotional ambassadors for Korean fashion, either directly or indirectly. The BTS idol currently has 48.62 million Instagram followers, and his prominence in Korean fashion and industry has spread across the world.
In February 2024, actor Timothee Chalamet flaunted a metallic silver jumpsuit from Samsung C&T Fashion's Seoul-based brand, JUUN.J for Dune: Part 2 promotions. The Hollywood star personally visited the JUUN.J's Apgujeong store in Seoul for his personal shopping and was billed 5 million won ($3,594.32).
