BTS' Jin was reportedly selected as the first guest of Ryu Ho-jin PD's new variety show Handsome Guys. On October 28, Star News released an exclusive report regarding Jin's recent activities. The media agency reported that the BTS member will appear on the new variety show, living up to his title of Worldwide Handsome.
Handsome Guys is an upcoming tvN variety show directed by producer Ryo Ho-jin that puts underrated South Korean celebrities under the spotlight, where six men go on a journey all across the country in the quest of popular Korean food. Following the reports, on October 28, 2024, Jin is said to have filmed an episode for the show in Busan, South Korea.
He was reportedly selected after receiving acknowledgment for his distinct speaking skills and performance on TV variety shows and YouTube content like his solo show Run Jin. The Moon singer is expected to showcase exciting synergy with the regular cast members of the show.
The regular cast members of Handsome Guys reportedly include Moving actor Cha Tae-hyun, Alchemy of Souls star Shin Seung-ho, and Marry My Husband actor Lee Yi-kyung, who is a close friend of Jin. Other reported cast members are broadcaster and former MMA fighter Kim Dong-Hyun and South Korean national fencing team player Oh Sang-Wook.
tvN confirms BTS’ Jin to be the first guest on the upcoming show Handsome Guys directed by PD Ryu Ho-jin
On October 28, 2024, Star News reported that BTS’ Jin will join PD Ryu Ho-jin's upcoming variety show Handsome Guys as a guest. Furthermore, they also reported the potential cast of the show, including Cha Tae-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, and more. The tvN production team confirmed the news through a statement given to Daily Sports.
“We will present a new program 'Handsome Guys' directed by PD Ryu Ho-jin. Cha Tae-hyun, Kim Dong-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung, Shin Seung-ho, and Oh Sang-wook will be participating, and BTS Jin will be the first guest.”
The production team further cited the safety of the cast and crew during the filming as the reason for not disclosing details regarding the filming location.
“In order to film safely and smoothly, we ask for your understanding that we cannot confirm specifics such as the filming location and schedule. We will give you more detailed information about the program later.”
Anticipation has increased as producer Ryu Ho-jin is widely known for previously directing shows like KBS2 show 2 Days & 1 Night. In 2019, he joined hands with tvN to produce shows like Hometown Flex, starring Lee Seung-gi and Cha Tae-hyun. He also directed Unexpected Business with Moving co-stars Cha Tae-hyun and Jo In-sung.
Meanwhile, BTS’ Jin is gearing up for his first solo album Happy with the title track Running Wild, which is co-produced by British pop band Take That's Gary Barlow. Happy will also feature Wendy of Red Velvet on the song Heart to the Window. The album also includes the song Until It Reaches You (네게 닿을때까지), which is co-produced by the Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK members Taka Moriuchi and Toru Yamashita. The other songs of Happy are In Yearning/Longing (그리움에), I'll Be There, and Another Level.
Jin will also appear on Jang Do-yeon's talk show Salon Drip 2 to promote his album. The episode will be released on November 5, 2024, on the YouTube channel TEO Universe.
