Since BTS’ Jin was named as Alo Yoga’s global ambassador on October 17, 2024, the brand has seen a notable surge in media exposure and impact worldwide. WWD reported that within just 24 hours of the announcement, Alo Yoga generated $3.6 million in Media Impact Value (MIV), a metric designed to quantify the financial worth of media placements and brand mentions.

This impressive figure highlights the immediate influence the star brings to the brand, boosting the brand's visibility and demonstrating his powerful impact on Alo Yoga’s market presence.

Jin's selection as an Alo ambassador has worked profitably for the brand

BTS' eldest member Jin became the first member of the group to become an ambassador for a sportswear brand. After days of teasing the fans, the official brand ambassador announcement was made on October 17. The news was announced by the star itself via his personal Instagram. WWD reported that the single post itself was valued at 1.2 Million dollars.

This value determined by the Media Impact Value (MIV) is a metric created by the data and insights company Launchmetrics. MIV quantifies the impact of a brand’s media exposure across various platforms like online articles, social media posts, and videos by assigning a monetary value to each piece of media coverage or engagement.

Alo Yoga is reportedly set to open a new flagship store in South Korea in April 2025, showcasing a sleek design and innovative features. The reported to-be 6,000-square-foot, six-story location will include a distinctive slatted wood exterior, a rooftop terrace, and a peaceful sunken garden, creating a sanctuary that embodies the brand's minimalist and mindful aesthetic.

In an interview with WWD, Summer Nacewicz, Alo Yoga’s VP of Marketing and Creative, shared that Jin’s addition perfectly aligns with the brand’s goals. Her words were,

“Jin embodies the spirit of mindfulness and wellness that Alo stands for, and his influence has the power to inspire a global audience, Through this collaboration, we hope to amplify our mission of promoting physical and mental well-being worldwide.”

Regarding the brand, Jin has also expressed a preference for several key pieces from Alo Yoga, including the Make Waves Hoodie and sweatpants, Double Take Short Sleeve, Performance Off-Duty cap, and the Alo Runner shoes. He revealed that he selected these items for their comfort, stylish appeal, and functionality.

This partnership with Alo Yoga is the latest in a string of collaborations for the BTS member, who has expanded his ambassadorial reach with brands like Gucci, and jeweler Fred. Additionally, he made history as the first-ever male global ambassador for the brand, Laneige, a Korean skincare brand.

The BTS member completed his active military service on June 12 and is set to release his debut solo album, Happy, on November 15
