BTS Jin returned from the military on June 12, 2024, after completing 18 months of mandatory military service. On June 15, the band leader, Kim Namjoon, aka RM, uploaded a group picture to his Instagram account. Jin was seen wearing a white round-collar T-shirt with a rainbow heart printed on the front and a blue baseball cap. Within a day, the particular T-shirt and cap sold out worldwide, demonstrating the musician's global influence and power.

The T-shirt belongs to the CHANCECHANCE brand, whereas the denim baseball cap is from EMIS. Star News reported that earlier, the Awake singer-songwriter's influence increased domestic ramen exports of the Ottogi Jin Ramyun. This lead to an increase of their operating profit and sales of key products like sauces, ramen, and convenience food from 2022 to 2023 worldwide.

Despite serving in the South Korean military from December 2022 to June 12, 2024, the Epiphany singer-songwriter's worldwide influence was not dampened.

BTS Jin's nickname 'Sold Out King' was recognized by the South Korean National Assembly

The South Korean National Assembly emphasized the BTS idol's role in promoting Korean ramen as a stand-in national export on September 1. The Korea Customs Service estimated that as of July 2023, ramen exports totaled around $522 million, a 17.7% rise over the same month in 2022. Ottogi's income climbed by at least 15% once they made the BTS idol their brand ambassador.

The company's sales and popularity soared in the foreign market as well. In early 2023, Ottogi became a member of the 'trillion won club' (over $2.43 billion). Although the brand was established in 1959, it was only after working with Jin for a few months that it was able to surpass the massive number of sales in its entire history.

In January 2022, Samsung C&T's fashion business reported sales of 1.767 trillion won (over $1.27 billion) and an operating profit of 100 billion won (over $72.2 million) in 2021, according to the Financial Supervisory Service. This sales growth of 14.4% and 377.8% over 2020 was all due to Jin's global power.

On June 13, 2024, on the occasion of BTS' 11th anniversary, the Epiphany singer-songwriter held a fan event where he hugged 1,000 fans. Around 4,000 BTS ARMY were selected by BIGHIT MUSIC through a raffle to attend the event at Jamsil Arena. However, only 1,000 fans made the cut to get a chance to hug the Moon singer.

Additionally, during the event, two fans allegedly tried to kiss the BTS idol and are currently facing s*xual assault charges. Seoul’s Songpa Police Department reported that they will consider the complaints filed by other fans and see if they require further investigation.

BTS ARMY were furious, and the clip went viral online, which showed the fan allegedly trying to kiss the BTS idol without his consent. The video also showed Jin's blatant discomfort and an attempt to get free from the fan's grip, which further incensed the fans' outcry.
