BTS’ Jin's torchbearer moment was listed as one of the top moments of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics by Billboard. On July 14, Jin made history as the first K-pop artist to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics as a torchbearer. He was also the first participant to commence the Louvre Pyramid Museum section of the torch relay.
Multiple videos and clips of the K-pop star carrying the flame went viral on social media, creating a huge buzz among ARMYs. The BTS vocalist was surrounded by a huge crowd, as many fans traveled to Paris to witness this moment.
On July 25, ahead of the Olympic games, Billboard released a list of anticipated highlights, which prominently featured Jin's participation in the torch relay. The publication stated:
“The momentous lighting of the Olympic cauldron in Paris will be one of the biggest moments of the 2024 opening ceremony on the Seine, preceded by a months-long torch relay beginning in Greece. BTS’ Jin was one of many participants in the relay, helping to carry the flame through a stretch in the City of Love that went by the Louvre.”

BTS’ Jin shares his experience of participating in the Torch Relay before 2024 Paris Summer Olympics
On July 15, following his participation in the Olympics Torch Relay in Paris, France, the BTS member took to Weverse to reflect on his experience. The Astronaut singer revealed that he received a certificate and a golden ring after the Torch Relay race.
The singer also showcased his gratitude to the fans who joined in on the ground and supported him with loud cheers. He stated:
“I was so thankful that so many fans came, and it became such a strength to me that fans came and cheered me on. I was able to see so many armys, and it gave me strength.”
The K-pop idol was seen walking through the streets of Paris, and he explained the reason behind this. He mentioned that he wanted to run, but because of a certain time limit for the torchbearers he had to walk. However, the Epiphany singer expressed his satisfaction for being able to conclude the relay well.
He added:
“I'm happy overall since I was able to wrap it up well. Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity that is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
BTS’ Jin dictates 2024 July K-pop idols’ individual brand reputation ranking list
On July 25, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute announced the K-pop idols’ individual brand reputation ranking list, with Jin securing the top spot. The BTS vocalist's brand reputation index score for July was 5,606,311 value points.
His participation index stood at 139,956 points, while the media index was 1,263,125 points. The communication and community index were revealed to be 2,161,547 points and 2,041,682 points, respectively.
Additionally, the Institute’s big data analysis revealed high-ranking phrases like “to send, to receive attention,” and “to be handsome” were revealed to be associated with the K-pop idol. Moreover, high-ranking keywords analyzed were revealed to be the Paris Olympics, the torch relay, and his popular solo song Super Tuna.
The BTS member is set to appear as a guest worker on the MBC variety show The Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island.
