BTS' Kim Taehyung reportedly has helped in the increase of Celine's operating revenue in 2023. On June 14, Korea JoongAng Daily reported that renowned luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, and Chanel saw a decline in their revenue and profits last year, unlike Celine.
The brand revenue reportedly saw a significant rise achieving 307.2 billion KRW last year, about 513.2 percent from 2022. This marks a six times higher revenue rate than that of 2022, which was 50.1 billion KRW. Furthermore, The LVMH-owned brand reportedly rose from 2.5 billion KRW to 17 billion KRW in terms of operating profits in 2023.
On the other hand, the revenue of Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, and Chanel was recorded to be 1.1 trillion KRW with a notable decrease of 19 percent. Notably, Besides Kim Taehyung, The Love in the Moonlight star Park Bo-gum and BLACKPINK rapper Lisa are also the ambassadors who have played a pivotal role in the reported revenue increase of the brand.

On March 15, 2023, BTS’ Kim Taehyung was announced as the brand ambassador of Celine. The BTS member has garnered attention from fans and netizens for his appearance at several fashion events held by the brand while donning designer outfits.
K-pop idols are known to promote such brands using their social media presence, as they share images with the brand items, fans and netizens find the products trendy.
Celine's profit has witnessed an increase due to its success in the Korean market reportedly after Kim Taehyung was announced as the ambassador of the brand. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, the brand has a huge impact on the young population of the country falling in the group of 20s and 30s.
The trend is reportedly spreading among senior citizens including people from the age group of 50s, 60s, and 70s. Moreover, the affordability of Celine is reportedly higher than that of other luxurious brands which gives easy access to a larger target audience.
Meanwhile, Shinsegae International, a departmental store chain in South Korea also witnessed a decline in profits as the Celine Korea store exited the departmental store. This was after their contract with the French brand expired in 2023 leading to a 12.8 percent revenue loss.
Besides the French luxury fashion house, he was also confirmed as the brand ambassador of the jewelry brand Cartier in July 2023. The Layover singer also represents Compose Coffee, a South Korean coffee chain, since December 2023.
In April 2024, Compose Coffee made a remarkable achievement as it recorded a double-digit profit of 36.7 billion KRW. Compose Coffee also saw a rise of 17 percent in the operational profits of 800 million KRW and the sale marked an increase of 67 percent to 17.5 billion KRW.
Currently, Kim Taehyung is fulfilling his national duty by completing his military service. He is a part of the special military police unit under the direct control of the 2nd Army Corps headquarters in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do province. On June 12, he was spotted in front of the media as he visited Jin at the site of his military discharge, along with his fellow members including RM, J-hope, Jimin, and Jungkook.
