BTS’ Namjoon becomes the youngest Korean artist in history with most KOMCA credits as “Domodachi (ft. Little Simz)” gets added to the list

Kim Namjoon, aka RM of BTS, maintained his record as the youngest artist with the most KOMCA honors on September 16, 2024. With the addition of Domodachi (feat. Little Simz) from his most recent album, Right Place Wrong Person, he now has 229 credits overall.

The track was co-written by RM alongside BJ Wnjn, JNKYRD, Mokyo, Nancy Boy, Yawn, Simbiatu Ajikawo, and Qim Isle. For the unversed, in South Korea, the copyright holder's rights in the music business are safeguarded by the non-profit Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).

In the association's history, RM became the youngest credited songwriter and the second-most credited artist after VIXX's Ravi. His credits include two songs for former BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE) labelmate Glam before their breakup, music for his numerous features, and also BTS.

Kim Namjoon of BTS becomes the youngest pioneer in the field of songwriters

Namjoon released his first mixtape, RM, on SoundCloud on March 20, 2015. It was based on his old stage name, "Rap Monster." RM has a total of 11 tracks, some of which are Voice, Awakening, Good Rap, Adrift, and Monster.

In March 2018, Namjoon used BTS' X account to share a teaser of his second mixtape, mono. It was released on October 23, 2018, with an animated music video for Forever Rain, along with six other tracks. Popular tracks like Moonchild, Badbye, Uhgood, Seoul, and Everythingoes are from this mixtape.

Additionally, Namjoon wrote several songs for BTS and other artists, including Western artists like the late JUICE WRLD. He also wrote for TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), Gaeko, Coldplay, and more.
