BTS’ RM and V, also known as Kim Taehyung, each won one award at the 2nd season of K-Star Chart 2024. On Sunday, July 7, TOKYOFM’s K-STAR CHART presented POP-K TOP10 Friday!, announcing the result of the K-Star Chart 2024 awards. The awards recognized the top vote-getters in six categories for the second season.
RM won the Best Self-Produced Idol award, a special category introduced this season. Winners in this category were selected based on fan votes, and the BTS leader achieved an impressive 41.16 percent vote to claim the top spot.
Meanwhile, Kim Taehyung won the Best Solo & Featuring Category as the top-performing solo artist from April to June. With over 45.64 percent, the Layover singer topped the Best Solo & Featuring category, beating other artists like EXO's Suho and SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan.

2nd K-Star 2024 awardees: BTS’ RM wins Best Self-Produced Idol and Kim Taehyung wins Best Solo & Featuring award
BTS’ leader RM won the Best Self-Produced award in the 2nd K-Star Chart in 2024. This category included K-pop artists known for their multi-talented skills in music production, composition, choreography, and artwork.
The Best Self-Produced Idol, a special category, acknowledged male and female artists who made remarkable contributions through their music and were active from January to June 2024. RM dropped his highly anticipated second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, with the title track LOST! on May 24, 2024.
The album features ten tracks along with LOST!: Right People, Wrong Place, Nuts, out of love Domodachi (feat. Little Simz), ?(Interlude), Groin, Heaven, Around the world in a day (feat. Moses Sumney), ㅠㅠ (Credit Roll), and the pre-release song Come back to me.
On the other hand, the Best Solo & Featuring award went to V (Kim Taehyung), recognized for his performance as a solo artist. This category acknowledged both male and female solo acts who performed well according to fan votes from April to June 2024.
Previously, Kim Taehyung surprised fans by releasing his latest single FRI(END)S, in English, on March 15, 2024. Although the two BTS members have been serving in the military since December 2023, they pre-recorded their solo music before their enlistment.

Meanwhile, Kim Taehyung is set to release his special photobook TYPE 1, featuring 224 pages of exclusive images of the BTS member, on July 9, 2024. Additionally, the magazine version of TYPE 1, which has 152 pages, will be out by August 6, 2024.
BIGHIT MUSIC is set to hold the ARTSPACE: TYPE 1 exhibition, showcasing photographs of V in different cities across the globe, including Seoul, Bangkok, Vancouver, Taipei, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.
