BTS RM began mandatory military service on December 11, 2023, alongside fellow group member Kim Taehyung. After concluding his five weeks of basic training at the boot camp, the male artist joined the 15th Infantry Division of the 2nd Corps of the Republic of South Korea, where he would continue his duty as an active-duty soldier.
