On August 8, 2024, the South Korean media outlet Sports Chosun reported that BTS Suga won't quit the group after the DUI incident. The male artist has been reflecting on the latest occurrence and BTS has been considered a band for a long time with great teamwork.
Previously, on August 7, 2024, Seoul Yongsan Police Station reported that BTS Suga violated the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) while riding an electric scooter under alcohol influence.
On August 6, the male artist was reportedly found driving the electric scooter alone and discovered lying on the floor, due to being drunk. Subsequently, police officers who found him in the condition took him to the police station for investigation.
BTS Suga's blood alcohol level was reportedly 0.227% when he drove electric scooter
According to the outlet, BTS Suga's blood alcohol level was 0.227% as he drove an electric scooter. Meanwhile, during the investigation process, the idol confessed that he had only one beer.
However, multiple fabricated allegations against the male artist, including the amount of alcohol consumption, have been circulating on social media since it was reported that the male artist's blood alcohol level was revealed to be over 0.2%.
After BTS Suga's DUI incident, the male artist took to the South Korean social media platform, Weverse, where he apologized for the incident and confessed he was using an 'electric kickboard' to reach home under the alcohol influence and eventually fell. The idol shared the heartfelt letter on August 7, 2024.
Subsequently, Seoul Yongsan Police Station released a statement contrary to the male artist's claims of riding an "electric kickboard." The authorities revealed that Suga was drunk driving an "electric scooter." Some footage allegedly featuring the idol riding the vehicle under the alcohol influence also went viral on social media.
Consequently, the idol has been under fire for the recent incidents, with fans accusing him of keeping up a facade about his drinking habits and the vehicle he used during the drunk driving. The K-pop community was condemning the idol's actions, with many allegedly demanding him to leave the group.
However, as per the details shared by Sports Chosun, it is reportedly unlikely that the recent incident would compel the male artist to leave the group. It should be noted that BTS's much-awaited comeback in 2025 would reportedly strengthen the hold of the group in the K-pop industry.
BTS Suga began mandatory military service as a social worker on September 22, 2023. Before conscripting, the male artist's debut solo album, D-Day, was released on April 21, 2023, under the stage name, Agust D.
He was also appointed as the ambassador for Italian luxury fashion Valentino and National Basketball Association (NBA). The idol also conducted a talk show Suchwita, where he would invite prominent guests and personalities to talk about their upcoming projects.
