BTS member Taehyung's solo album Layover Vinyl LP has been showcasing its massive global demand, selling out multiple times in both the UK and the US.
On October 18, 2024, the vinyl version of Layover officially went on sale across the United States and Europe. Remarkably, within just two days, the album sold out across several outlets, as reported by Star News on October 20.
This marks the second time the Layover vinyl has sold out, following the initial pre-orders that began back in August. During the first round, it took nearly 10-12 days for the vinyl to sell out on September 1.
However, this time around, the demand was even more intense, with the album selling out in just two days, an achievement that the fans are celebrating. This rapid sellout speaks to the strong support and love for V's solo work.
BTS' Taehyung's Layover proves its popularity once again
On October 18, BTS' Taehyung's Layover LP was completely sold out at several prominent UK record stores, including the BTS Official UK Store, Record Store UK, Polydor, and The Sound of Vinyl. This was particularly significant since the LP had just officially launched on that very same day.
Prior to this, pre-orders had already started on August 20, and it was initially sold out by September 1. The recent sell-out on October 18 marked the second time it had sold out.
By October 19, even more UK stores such as Horizons Music, Hive, WHSmith, SOKOLLAB, and Kyyo also reported the LP being sold out. In total, 9 stores across the UK experienced a complete sell-out of Layover.
Taehyung's album has been making waves in the US as well. On October 18, it sold out on Barnes & Noble online. Previously, in late September and early October, it sold out in the BTS USA Official Store, Weverse Official US Store, and major retailers like Target, Tower Records, and Elusive Disc. Notably, Layover sold out three times at the famous supermarket, Target.
Furthermore, the LP has been maintaining its strong momentum by ranking as the No. 1 bestseller on major US online retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. The album’s popularity isn't limited to Western markets. In Japan as well, Layover sold out in just one day after its pre-order release at the BTS Official Japan Store and Universal Music Japan.
Even after being restocked, it sold out multiple times, leading it to rank No. 1 on Oricon’s "Daily Album Ranking" chart. It also reached the top spot on the Amazon Japan Imported Albums chart.
In South Korea, the LP has been a dominant force as well, topping the bestseller charts in major online stores like Yes24 in the CD/LP section, and claiming the No. 1 spot overall on Aladdin's bestseller chart. This overwhelming demand for Taehyung's album from global fans is an indicator of his popularity and overall success.
