On June 7 at around noon KST, BTS occupied Hanteo Chart's Physical Album Chart in the top ten positions. The group's 2022 album PROOF and their members' individual albums were seen filling the spots, with Jin's debut single album The Astronaut at the top.

Following that was RM's Right Place, Wrong Person, Jungkook's GOLDEN, V's Layover, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 by J-Hope, D-DAY by Agust D, the group's PROOF [Compact Edition], Jimin's FACE, INDIGO [Book Edition] of RM, and BTS' PROOF [Standard Edition], in that order. Furthermore, the group still claimed 10 out of 15 spots on the chart even at 6 PM KST.

Their chart-domination came as a welcome surprise to many, as a few of them came out over a year ago. Some netizens believed that it might have something to do with Jin who is supposed to be discharged from the military on June 12. With only a few days left leading to the date fans have been excited about a "Light Hug" ceremony which will be held on BTS' debut anniversary on June 13.

Expanding on the event, Koreaboo had the following to say,

"With the idol due to be discharged from the army in a matter of days, there has been a “Hug Event” where fans can enter a raffle to have a chance to meet Jin and hug him. All of the albums that entered the charts are the ones that can be bought in order to enter the raffle for the event."

The special in-person ceremony is to fulfill Jin's wish to celebrate the 2024 BTS Festa with ARMYs

The Moon singer was the first member of the K-pop group to enlist in the military in December 2022.

Amidst the anticipation and wait for his discharge, the septet's agency BigHit Music released a statement on Weverse on June 1, 2024, stating Jin will be celebrating this year's BTS Festa with fans through a unique face-to-face event. The statement further read:

"This event was prepared in order to fulfill Jin’s wish to spend meaningful time with ARMY in person on BTS’s debut day. We invite you to join us as we express our gratitude for your unwavering love for BTS."

In the announcement, BigHit Music mentioned the event will be taking place in two parts. While the first phase called "Jin's Greetings" will not be streamed online, the second phase, "Message from Jin" will be live-streamed on Weverse solely for ARMY MEMBERSHIP (GL, JP, US) holders. While the second session will last an hour and have the 31-year-old idol showcase performances per ARMY's wishes, the first meet-and-greet session will run for three hours.

During the first session, Jin will be exchanging "light hugs" with fans as per his request, and fans who win the raffle can choose to shake his hand if they wish not to hug. Precautionary measures will be ensured, as per the official statement.

In the announcement, it was further stated that the event will be held for Weverse shop Global buyers of albums (solo albums included) that came out after PROOF.

BTS will be commemorating their 11th debut anniversary this year and as the celebrations are in full swing, the 2024 Bang Bang Con has also been declared to take place on June 8 at 12 PM KST. Additionally, member Jungkook dropped his new full-English song Never Let Go on June 7 at 1 PM KST as a gift for the 2024 BTS Festa.
