BTS' V's ‘Love Me Again’ surpasses 600M on Spotify, becoming his first solo and fastest B-side track by a K-act to reach this milestone

Making a new record, BTS' V, aka Kim Taehyung's Love Me Again, has surpassed 600 million streams on Spotify. The song has become the fastest B-side track by a K-pop artist to amass 600 million plays on the platform. This record was previously held by BLACKPINK's Lisa B-side track MONEY, which took 474 days to reach this feat.

Love Me Again was a pre-release track of V's first solo album, Layover, which was dropped on August 11, 2023. This Layover B-side song took 294 days to reach this milestone on Spotify. Notably, this is also the first solo song by Kim Taehyung to achieve 600 million streams on the music service app.

Recently, Layover became the first album by a K-pop solo artist to have 100 million streams on each track. The album was released on September 8, featuring six songs, including Rainy Days, Blue, Love Me Again, Slow Dancing, For Us, and Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.).

Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.) was the last track on the album to achieve 100 million plays on the music service platform. Notably, it is the fastest album by an Asian act to reach this milestone, taking only 258 days.

Globally, Kim Taehyung's Layover is in fifth position only after renowned artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny, and Harry Styles for the fastest album to surpass 100 million on all songs. Furthermore, this is also the third fastest album in the world by a male artist to reach this feat.

Besides this, BTS member V has four songs that have surpassed 100 million streams, including his latest solo single, FRI(END)S, and OSTs like It's Definitely You with Jin, Christmas Tree, and Sweet Night.

Another noteworthy record for Kim Taehyung is his four tracks, Love Me Again, Christmas Tree, Sweet Night, and Slow Dancing, surpassing 300 million streams on Spotify. This has made him the third Asian solo artist and fifth Asian overall artist to amass 300 million streams.


BTS’ V's recent activities

Kim Taehyung is currently serving in the military as a member of the Special Duty Team. The BTS member began his military conscription on December 11, 2023, to fulfill his national duties. Recently, Kim Taehyung was on his sanctioned military leave of three days. These leaves are given to a recruit after they have completed the first hundred days of their term.

On May 28, 2024, He shared a story of striking a pose with popular South Korean choreographer Bada Lee, WEDEMBOYZ's director Kim Ing-yoo, on Instagram, which broke the internet as it surprised many fans. Bada Lee had posted a video of herself with V practicing a dance routine at one of the dance practice rooms. This was re-shared by the Slow Dancing singer on his Instagram stories.

The Instagram reel has garnered much attention from V and Bada Lee fans online. It has surpassed 28.4 million views with over 1.7 million likes and over 30K comments. The Inner Child singer also shared a video where he was seen dancing with Ingyoo, Bada Lee, and GOF.


BTS' Kim Taehyung is expected to reunite with his fellow group members in 2025 following his military service dischargement.
