On Monday, July 15, Byeon Woo-seok's agency and security team issued an apology for their alleged excessive security measures for the Korean actor. The statement followed a report from the National Human Rights Commission, filed by one of the airport users, who criticized the actor's security team for their excessive and allegedly extreme measures.
Previously, on July 12, when Byeon Woo-seok was spotted at the Incheon International Airport en route to Hong Kong, controversy arose regarding the behavior of his security team. Complaints included the guards' use of flashlights to prevent pictures being taken of the actor, checking the tickets of fellow lounge users, blocking gates, and more.
A complaint was subsequently filed with the National Human Rights Commission, stating that these measures interrupted and affected the lives of other airport users. In response, the agency, Varo Entertainment, and the CEO of the actor's security team issued a statement apologizing for the incident.
"Hello, This is Varo Entertainment. We deeply apologize for the incident where airport users were inconvenienced during our artist's departure from Incheon Airport on the 12th while performing security duties."

Following the incident, an anonymous netizen filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Committee, explaining that they were negatively affected by Byeon Woo-seok's security team at the Incheon International Airport. Their complaint read:
"Should violations be found, I demand strict measures be taken, including requesting the commencement of an official investigation by the Prosecutor General or the head of the relevant investigative agency under Article 34 (Cooperation between Investigative Agency and Commission) Paragraph 1 of the same Act."
As the incident continued to gain attention online, Byeon Woo-seok's agency released an apology statement. In addition to the above-mentioned quote, Varo Entertainment's statement included:
"Firstly, after recognizing the actions of the security personnel who flashed lights at airport users, we requested them to stop. Although we could not be aware of the gate, tickets, and detailed on-site security situation at the scene, we deeply feel a moral responsibility for any unfortunate incidents during the entire security process and sincerely apologize to the inconvenience airport users."
The statement further added:
"We will thoroughly check and ensure that such inconveniences do not occur again for airport users and everyone involved. Once again, we apologize for causing concern."
Meanwhile, the CEO of the security team apologized for their actions and the inconvenience caused. The CEO reportedly contacted multiple Korean press outlets, including My Daily, admitting that their security might have been unnecessarily heavy and strict. While they were trying to protect the actor, they regretted causing inconvenience to other airport users.
Additionally, the bodyguard who flashed lights at people to prevent people from taking pictures of Byeon Woo-seok also released a statement apologizing for his actions. While netizens were concerned about the delay in response and action from Varo Entertainment, they are pleased to learn that the issue has been settled.
