On January 24, Netflix released the new K-drama The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call, which quickly gained attention for its engaging characters and plot. Fans especially loved the chaotic chemistry between Ju Ji-hoon and Choo Young-woo.

Ju Ji-hoon plays Baek Kang-hyuk, a skilled trauma surgeon, while Choo Young-woo portrays his disciple, Yang Jae-won. Their relationship kicks off humorously when Kang-hyuk nicknames Jae-won "Anus" (Hangmun), sparking a fun dynamic between them.

As the two spend more time with each other, embarking on missions and working on trauma surgeries together, they create a chaotic bond that's filled with friendly bickering. Given that Kang-hyuk is confident, nonchalant, and adventurous, his clash in personality with Jae-won surprisingly blooms the chemistry between the two.

Therefore, many fans fell in love with their dynamic and couldn't stop talking about the same. Here are a few fan reactions regarding the The Trauma Code Heroes on Call duo:

The Trauma Code Hereos on Call stars, Ju Ji-hoon and Choo Young-woo talk about their latest Netflix series

The Trauma Code Heroes on Call is a medial South Korean TV series that was released on Netflix on January 24. The show is based on a 2019 web novel serialized on Naver, Trauma Center: Golden Hour by Hansanleega. It was written by Choi Tae-kang and directed by Lee Do-yoon

The show features a talented cast including Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Ha Young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Jung Jae-kwang. Before its release, the cast spoke with Harper’s Bazaar Korea on January 22 about their experience working on The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. Here's what Ju Ji-hoon shared:

"I was the oldest on set, so I knew that if I slacked off, everyone else would too. It made me realize how much effort senior actors have put in for me in the past."

He continued,

"I tried to openly discuss ideas with the director and the younger actors, and sometimes our meetings would go on for seven hours. I know how intimidating it can be to voice your thoughts as a rookie, so I made a conscious effort to avoid creating a stiff atmosphere."

Choo Young-woo also explained that he loved playing a role where he was saving lives. He also expressed his gratitude to Ju Ji-hoon for guiding him and helping him with his acting.

“Saving lives is such a noble act. Even though I only experienced it indirectly, I approached each moment with sincerity. I also became more expressive in my reactions. Ju Ji-hoon constantly monitored and guided me, helping me shape the character based on the webtoon.”

The Trauma Code Heroes on Call is currently streaming on Netflix.
