On December 6, BTS' RM’s solo album Right Place, Wrong Person was listed in NME’s Top 50 list of best albums of 2024. The British publication placed Namjoon’s album at #16 place on their chart, alongside other albums across the globe. Namjoon became the only Korean musician to feature in this 2024 list.
In addition to being placed in the Top 50 list, the BTS member’s album was also labeled as the best album by a K-pop artist in 2024 by NME. The publication described Namjoon’s Right Place, Wrong Person as:
“Few albums released in 2024 felt as packed with ideas as RM’s second solo album. But ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’ never felt overstuffed. As it took an exhilarating race through jazz, soaring indie and brutally honest hip-hop, the BTS rapper searched for his place in the world, disorientated but clinging to hope.”
BTS' RM’s fans were delighted with the singer’s latest achievement. As a result, fans poured the internet with praise for Namjoon and his album. Echoing this sentiment, one user on X stated:
“I honestly can't be more proud. RPWP BEST ALBUM OF 2024. CONGRATULATIONS RM. CONGRATULATIONS TEAM RM”
Some applauded BTS' RM for his recognition, and others claimed he deserved it.

In addition to NME, Namjoon’s album was recognized by HYPEBEAST and Rolling Stone. On December 5, HYPEBEAST included RM’s studio album in its Top 10 Best Music Projects of 2024, while Rolling Stone named Right Place, Wrong Person the best album by a Korean artist of the year.
As of writing this article, BTS' RM is enlisted in Korea's mandatory military service. He commenced his service in December 2023 and is projected to be discharged in June 2025.
