BLACKPINK's Jennie took the internet by storm with announcing The Ruby Experience concerts. The news came days after Jennie unveiled her first solo album, RUBY, which is all set to be released on March 7, 2025.
The concert will kick off on March 6 in Los Angeles at Peacock Theater. It will then proceed to Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 10 and mark its culmination in Seoul at Seoul Inspire Arena on March 15. A portion of the ticket sales proceeds will be donated to recover the damage caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles.
Jennie teasingly captioned the concert announcement post on Instagram,
"INTENSE AND INTIMATE AS I LIKE IT."
The announcement post put fans into a frenzy. They took to X to post their reactions, with one user posting:
"CAN'T WAIT!!!"
"I can feel the success of this album already," another fan said.
"Aaaaaah I love you jennieee! Can't wait!!!" one netizen reacted.
Other reactions to the post include:
"Is this a fanmeet? Or concert? / I wish I lived in LA or NY," another fan wrote.
"I'm so jealous of people who will be able to watch this," one fan exclaimed.
"CAN YOU BE INTENSE AND INTIMATE IN EUROPE TOO PLS," commented another netizen.
Jennie's first studio album RUBY focuses on bringing herself to the world for the first time
With the release of RUBY, Jennie believes that she can bring herself to the world and show different sides of her. She admitted that her debut album is full of various elements and genres. Slated to be released on March 7, RUBY features 15 tracks and collaborations with artists like Doechii, Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, and FKJ.
Jennie's solo album is all set to be released by her label, ODD ATELIER, which she formed after her exit from YG Entertainment. However, YG Entertainment will still manage her group activities with BLACKPINK.
Jennie gave fans a glimpse of her solo album in October with the release of the single Mantra. The single, celebrating girl power, was well received by fans and critics alike. It peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Global 200 and marked her entry on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 98. She was also the highest-charting female solo artist on the UK singles chart.
BLACKPINK's comeback and members' current activities
BLACKPINK is reportedly planning its comeback in 2025. YG Entertainment's founder, Yang Hyunsuk, appeared on YouTube in July and shared the plans for the group comeback and even a possible world tour.
Meanwhile, all the members of BLACKPINK are moving ahead with solo careers. Lisa is releasing her solo album, Alter Ego, on February 28 and is also gearing up for her upcoming drama series, The White Lotus. She is also slated to perform solo at Coachella with bandmate Jennie.
Jisoo, on the other hand, is busy with her upcoming acting project. She is all set to star in her upcoming drama series, Newtopia, which will be released on February 7. Jisoo has also announced releasing a song on Valentine's Day, February 14. However, there are no other details on whether it will be a single or an album.
Rosé has already made headlines with the release of her debut album, Rosie, and her banger with Bruno Mars APT in 2024. She recently performed at the Le Gala Des Pièces Jaunes 2025 and will perform as the first solo K-pop performer at Japan's largest music festival, GMO Sonic 2025.
