BTS’ Jungkook reportedly caused a significant surge in Weverse’s traffic with his recent live broadcast. On December 30, 2024, NH Investment & Securities reported that Weverse achieved a milestone in Q4, with its monthly active users (MAU) surpassing 10 million, which is its highest since Q3 of 2023.
The Bell News Korea reported on December 30 that Jungkook played a pivotal role in this achievement, by drawing traffic of 20.2 million real-time viewers during his December 18, 2024 livestream. This live set a record as the most-watched broadcast in the platform’s history, causing a notable spike in real-time active users.
Fans are attributing this surge in Weverse to the influence of the BTS member and his unexpected appearance on the platform.
"The golden egg layer for every associated business out there. He is indispensable," a fan wrote.
"So proud..Congratulations Jungkook," another fan wrote.
"Keeping that whole app running," a fan stated.

"World is not ready for what bts can casually pull once they’re back," another fan stated.
Jungkook's Weverse Live positively affects its real-time viewer count
In August 2024, HYBE unveiled its new growth strategy, “HYBE 2.0,” emphasizing the expansion of its fandom business model. A key component of this strategy is solidifying the superfan market via tech-driven initiatives.
The fourth quarter of 2024 serves as a crucial test for this strategy, given the introduction of several paid services on Weverse, such as digital memberships, direct messaging (DM) services, and advertising.
Initial data indicated positive results, with Weverse achieving over 10 million monthly active users (MAU) in Q4, its highest since Q3 2023. BTS members significantly contributed to Weverse’s growth in Q4.
Jin, the first member to complete military service, engaged with fans through Weverse and hosted his solo album showcase on the platform. Meanwhile, Jungkook’s unexpected live broadcast during his leave attracted over 20.2 million cumulative views, further boosting Weverse’s MAU.
The many monetization strategies appear to be narrowing Weverse Company’s financial losses. While the company reported a revenue of 177.9 billion KRW ($134 million) and a net loss of 11.8 billion KRW ($8.9 million) in the first three quarters of 2024, Q4 results are expected to demonstrate significant improvement, as mentioned by NH Investment & Securities.
HYBE is making efforts to position Weverse as a profitable core business within its ecosystem. However, the sustainability of these results remains contingent on consistent fan engagement and strategic innovation within the platform.
