On August 4, 2024, Naver, a prominent South Korean media outlet, reported that BTS' Jin's upcoming show, Run Jin, might feature some surprising guests. This new program is a spin-off from BTS' well-loved variety series RUN BTS, where Jin and his fellow members engaged in various activities individually and in teams.
According to Naver, the production team for Run Jin is excited about the idol's first solo venture into entertainment since his debut. They believe that his solo show offers a unique opportunity to focus on his talents.
As per the translations provided by an X user, the production team states,
"His seasoned variety skills and sense of humor are a given, and the chemistry he will create with unfamiliar guests is another highlight to watch."
The team also expressed that the BTS vocalist's extensive experience in entertainment and his interactions with new guests will be particularly interesting to watch, inviting fans to look forward to the chemistry and dynamics that will unfold on the show.
BTS' Jin to showcase his variety show charisma in upcoming program
The Epiphany singer began filming for his solo variety show just four days after his military discharge in June. The day following his discharge, he held an event for FESTA, an annual celebration of BTS' debut anniversary, to connect with his fans.
Known for his charisma and humor, the idol, dubbed 'Worldwide Handsome,' aims to make a mark as a variety show personality. As per the Naver report, the artist's solo show is set to showcase his versatility across different fields with a mindset of 'I can do anything,' reflecting his appreciation for the fan's support. They wrote,
"The solo variety show captures Jin's appearance in various fields with the mindset of 'I can do anything' in order to respond to ARMY's love."
The Moon singer first appeared solo on the YouTube show Nothing Much Prepared (direct English translation), hosted by Lee Young-ji, in October 2022. This episode became the channel’s most-watched, amassing 24 million views at the time of writing.
He was also featured on SBS’s Running Man and the YouTube channel Hal Myung Soo before his enlistment, both of which were well-received by fans.
The upcoming show of the idol is scheduled to debut on Weverse at 9 PM on August 13, with an additional release on BTS' official YouTube channel one hour later. New episodes will be available every Tuesday at the same time.
BTS' oldest member, Jin, has completed his mandatory military service, having enlisted in December 2022. After nearly eighteen months of service, he has returned.
He is now balancing a busy schedule, including preparing for his solo debut album, similar to the other members who released their solo work before their enlistments.
