BTS’ Kim Taehyung's mandatory service journey as a part of the special military police unit

The BTS vocalist began his military service journey on December 11, 2023, alongside his fellow group member, RM. Following the completion of the five-week basic training at the Nonsan Training Center, he underwent additional three-week training to enter the Special Duty Team.

Currently, the Layover singer is serving his conscription as a member of the special military police unit. The military police unit is under the direct authority of the 2nd Army Corps headquarters, which is located in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province.

Kim Taehyung was recently spotted at the Veteran Cultural Festival on June 9 in Chuncheon. The Dynamite singer was patrolling the area as a part of the military police unit and was not present there as an artist. He was seen greeting a veteran South Korean singer, Ms. Lee Ji-young, a member of Big Mama.

Ms Lee Ji-young shared a clip of her interaction with the K-pop idol on her official Instagram page where he introduced himself as V of BTS and stated that he was patrolling the area. Ms Lee Ji-young shared her experience of meeting Kim Taehyung through the caption.

She stated:

“I've always seen his cool self on stage but I had no idea he would be so gentle outside of the stage. He is even more handsome in his uniform.” translated by @navertaehyung on X.
“Please stay healthy while you finish your military service and I am cheering for you and to see your cool self again, she continued.

She further added that they could not get a picture together so she shared the video.
