CJ ENM unveils trailer and first look for Jung Hae-in’s upcoming movie I, The Executioner: All you need to know

The teaser trailer for I, The Executioner, the sequel to the film Veteran, which stars Jung Hae-in and Hwang Jung-min, has finally been released on July 29. The film is an action crime investigation drama about a young detective who joins a violent crime investigation team.

The film, which stars Jung Hae-in, Oh Dal-soo, Hwang Jung-min, and Jang Yoon-jo as the lead characters, is slated to release in cinemas on September 13. Ryu Seung Wan, who is also renowned for Escape from Mogadishu, MAD SAD BAD, and other films, wrote the screenplay and directed the film.

The movie is gaining attention from viewers following an official invitation to the Cannes International Festival in May prior to its premiere, and it also got acknowledged by the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

I, The Executioner: Plot, cast and trailer

Park Sun-woo joins the squad of seasoned detective Seo Do-cheol as a young detective. Do-cheol, a veteran who is desperate to find the bad guys, follows the hunt for a serial killer who has caused chaos around the globe. Jung Hae-in plays the role of Park Sun-woo, while Hwang Jung-min is seen in the role of Seo Do-cheol.

In the released trailer, the detectives investigate murders, which seem to have a similar pattern. Detective Seo Do-cheol is seen warning the criminals, followed by a series of action scenes and bike chases.

Jung Hae-in, who portrays Detective Park Sun-woo, has joined the series for the first time and revealed a fresh side of himself. Ahn Bo-hyun will be seen in the role of Min Kang-hoon and Jang Yoon-ju will be playing Bong Yoon-joo.

Veteran 2 gets a standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival

I, The Executioner is set nine years after the critically acclaimed 2015 action crime thriller Veteran, starring Hwang Jung-min and Yoo Ah-in, which garnered 13.41 million viewers. It portends the emergence of mistrustful citizens in the face of a barrage of mishaps and occurrences, as well as criminals who take advantage of this and those who conduct other crimes with the wrong motivations.

The cast and crew of Veteran attended the Cannes Film Festival on May 21, the day the movie made its world debut. When the showing concluded, the crowd gave the movie hearty applause and a 10-minute standing ovation. Actor Jung Hae-in was seen getting emotional over this overwhelming reception.
