BT21 unveiled a video through their social media handle on X, teasing the fandom about the upcoming collaboration between Wootteo and RJ following BTS Jin's return from military service. The clip was shared on June 8, 2024, and BT21 captioned it as:
"I have a friend to introduce to UNISTARS. This friend has come from very far away. [Wootteo X RJ] coming soon.."
In the video, RJ was occupied preparing a cake. However, he broke a bowl of eggs and started panicking, and Wootteo arrived at the scene to save the day.
RJ and Wootteo succeeded in making the cake and added the words, 'Welcome Home.' They also drew a heart beside the words 'Welcome Home,' in a pink palette that blew in the air, hinting they were celebrating the return of someone.

Soon, the collaboration video went viral on social media, where fandom was taken aback by RJ and Wootteo's never-seen friendship. While some called them siblings, others expressed their admiration for them. They also felt thankful to the idol for creating such adorable animated characters. Naturally, one user tweeted:

Recently, BT21 and Kurand of Japan collaborated to launch RJ Makgeolli, following Jin's footsteps, as the idol has previously created his liquor, Butterfly Honey Jar. RJ's Makgeolli would be available to purchase from BT21 The Craft Drink Shop and available until July 10, 2024.
RJ has created waves as an 8-meter-tall mega statue of the animated character was established at the K-Food Festival Knock Knock held at the Gwanghwamun Food Market.

The idol was the first member of the group to enlist for mandatory military service on December 12, 2022. He also held the position of assistant drill instructor at the Army's Fifth Infantry Division and was honored with the title Elite Class Warrior.
He also received an early promotion to the rank of Corporal and was subsequently promoted to Sergeant four months before the scheduled date. The idol is expected to be discharged from conscription on June 12, 2024.
