The last couple of The Boyfriend, Dai, and Shun, captured the fans’ attention with an unreleased clip from episode two. The unseen video was shown on The Boyfriend Night Vol. 1 released on Saturday, July 13 on the official YouTube channel of Netflix Japan.

This video shows Dai and Shun's conversation after their second coffee truck shift, during which they discuss their love index. Shun revealed that it is difficult for him to reach from 0 to 1 in a relationship. He is very careful and slow. However, once he reaches 1, he can easily go up to point 50, which is dating for him. Point 100 in a relationship for Shun is marriage.

Meanwhile, for Dai, points 20 to 30 are easy when he feels good about a relationship, but the speed of progressing from there becomes slow.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts about Dai and Shun's love index.

"Dai fell first but Shun fell harder."
“Crazy how they have very different approaches when it comes to dating and commitment, but I guess they're managing to make it work???” a fan wrote.
“At some point during their stay, these two got in sync. Dai fell first, but Shun takes a while. However, once Shun falls for Dai, it’s a hard fall from zero to 50!” a user added.

Fans called this conversation between Dai and Shun a crucial point in their connection.

“I guess it has went up to 1.” a fan stated.
“I love their conversations, listening and talking and the way they are showing a real interest in each other,” a fan commented.
“I think this conversation was the key for they relation's development. This also explains why Dai was so patient with Shun since day1. I think it should have been included in the serie tbh it would have explained a lot.” a user wrote.

Netizens expressed their disappointment in Netflix for not adding this part of The Boyfriend cast members in the episode.

“Why did Netflix not include this scene . This was such an important moment between them . Also I’m able to sympathise even more with shun cos the reasoning behind his actions actually makes sense,” a fan commented.
“Dai understood shun form this single conversation he knew shun won't take him seriousely if he wasn't serious We learn a lot about how shun mind works Idk why netflix decided to cut such a crucial conversation from the show,” another fan added.
“See I don't get why Netflix could cut this part out because this basically explains SO MUCH and why Dai actually understood Shun and went at his pace until they were on the same page,” a user said.
