In a recent Deadpool and Wolverine interview, actor Ryan Reynolds expressed his fondness for the K-pop group BLACKPINK. During the interview, Ryan was asked a question regarding the costumes the movie cast wore a while ago.

The interviewer mentioned that the costumes were designed by the designers of BLACKPINK's Coachella appearance. At the time, the actor mentioned that he loves the group, delighting fans of the group and the K-pop community.

The K-pop community reacted to this confession joyfully:

"Blackpink you will always be famous," a fan said, proud of the group's popularity.
"They have only 1 kpop group in their mind and that's BLACKPINK," another fan said.
"blackpink is canon in the deadpool universe," another fan creatively linked the movie and the group in reference.

While many praised the group's global popularity, others found it amusing that Ryan Reynolds is a K-pop fan. Some fans also made fun comments by mentioning his wife, Blake Lively, in the conversation.

"Your wife is a friend with one member we know you love them," a fan coined in a fun way.
"First Blake and now Ryan oh my god u ppl can't understand how much bp x the Reynolds moments mean to me," a fan said.
"Ryan Reynolds being a kpop fan still is so unreal to me," a fan expressed their surprise.

Ryan Reynolds wins the hearts of the BLACKPINK fans

The recent and heavily awaited movie Deadpool & Wolverine's press tour is taking place around multiple venues around the world. They landed in Seoul, South Korea, at their recent stop on July 29, 2024.

During the press meet, actors Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and director Shawn Levy were present. They had a brief chat with the interviewer and tried on the traditional Korean dress, the "Hanbok."

The Hanboks were customized according to the stars and their roles in the movie. Hugh Jackman wore a yellow one, coordinating with the color of his Wolverine costume. Ryan Reynolds was given a red one, as per Deadpool's costume, and the director wore a black Hanbok.

After this Hanbok session was done, the interviewer told them that the Hanboks were designed by an esteemed designer who also designed the K-pop girl group's traditionally inspired Coachella costumes. The group had headlined the Coachella music festival earlier last year, in 2023.

"It was designed by the same designer who designed Korean K-pop sensation BLACKPINK's Coachella hanbok."

To which Ryan replied with,

"I love BLACKPINK."

This statement delighted the fans, and they cheered on this answer with claps.

This moment reminded fans of when his wife, Blake Lively, met the group's member Rosé during a Tiffany & Co. event in May 2024. The two stars had taken a loving photo with each other, giving fans a glimpse of the shared admiration between them. So, Ryan Reynolds' recent expression towards BLACKPINK instantly reminded fans of the Blake Lively and Rosé interaction.

Fans of the group were so delighted that they expressed an interest in watching Ryan Reynold's upcoming movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. They also said they'll watch some of his previous releases as well due to their newfound admiration of the actor.

In other news, it is also a well-known fact by many fans that the actor is a big fan of another K-pop group, Stray Kids. He recently appeared in the Chk Chk Boom music video with fellow Deadpool & Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman. The movie is currently available to watch in theatres.
