Dear Hyeri starring Shin Hye-sun, Lee Jin-wook, and Kang Hoon aired episodes 7 and 8 on October 14 and 15, respectively on ENA. In episode 7, Joo Eun-ho (Shin Hye-sun), who recently got to know about her alter ego Hyeri, decided to follow Hyeri’s schedule for a day. She learned how to stay happy every day.

Joo Eun-ho met Kang Ju-yeon (Kang Hoon) who believed she was Hyeri. Kang Ju-yeon asked her about PPS reporter Joo Eun-ho and she stated she was her elder sister, contradicting her words. Previously, Hyeri had told Kang Ju-yeon that she was the only child and did not have a family. He believed her despite being suspicious about her real identity. Joo Eun-ho then hurt herself while playing and got stitches on the side of her palm.

In the recent developments of Dear Hyeri, Kang Ju-yeon eventually learned that Hyeri did not exist and that she was Joo Eun-ho's alter ego. Meanwhile, Joo Eun-ho learned that there were rumors of Jung Hyun-oh's (Lee Jin-wook) marriage, which enraged her as it was the reason why they broke up.

Dear Hyeri episodes 7 & 8 recap: Joo Eun-ho loses her job while Hyeri prepares to step in

In Dear Hyeri episode 7, Jung Hyun-oh could not achieve a position at the 9 pm news broadcast. Meanwhile, Joo Eun-ho could not convince the higher-ups to reconsider his audition. Kang Ju-yeon officially met Joo Eun-ho and Jung Hyun-oh during the tripod media broadcast campaign. Kang Ju-yeon saw Hyeri's resemblance to Joo Eun-ho and thought they were sisters.

Kang Ju-yeon introduced himself to her and noticed a bandage on her hand, where the Hyeri he knew had a scar. He later followed Joo Eun-ho and called her by Hyeri's name and she turned, leaving him surprised. As Kang Ju-yeon's suspicion regarding Hyeri's phone, her contact, and her relationship became clearer, he believed that Joo Eun-ho was two-timing with him and Jung Hyun-oh.

However, Joo Eun-ho and Kang Ju-yeon went to a cafe where she explained that she had dissociative personality disorder and that Hyeri was her second personality. She explained that she only knew about it recently but it was difficult for Kang Ju-yeon to accept this.

Joo Eun-ho said that Hyeri might have liked him a lot. Kang Ju-yeon told her when her alter ego would come back, he would be fine and would wait for her. Joo Eun-ho, in tears, could not say anything but apologized to him.

By the end of Dear Hyeri episode 7, Joo Eun-ho overheard a colleague asking Jung Hyun-oh if he was going to get married. Joo Eun-ho was stunned and left the place. In episode 8, Joo Eun-ho was in disbelief that there were speculations about Jung Hyun-oh’s wedding.

Jung Hyun-oh’s adoptive grandmother Mi-Ja (Choi Soo-min) revealed that she had breast cancer and did not have plans to get treated, she just wished to live her usual life. However, Jung Hyun-oh requested her to get treated, but instead grandmother, Mi-ja told him she would get treated only if he got married.

Eun Shin-young’s sister Eun Cho-rong showed her interest in getting married to Jung Hyun-oh, however, he was against it. This was because he was responsible for taking care of the four grandmothers and he did not want his spouse to be dragged into his family issues.

Later in Dear Hyeri episode 8, Joo Eun-ho confronted Jung Hyun-oh about the marriage rumors and asked him who was the woman he would be getting married to. As Jung Hyun-oh tried to explain, she interrupted saying she was not interested as they had already broken up.

She was enraged as four years ago, he broke up with her as she had mentioned the topic of marriage and now he was considering and having discussions about the same. Joo Eun-ho asked him if she meant anything to him when they were together and also asked him if he did not want to get married to her specifically.

At work, Joo Eun-ho had been distracted due to Jung Hyun-oh. That's why she lost three broadcast programs, including the 12 pm news broadcast, which Jung Hyun-oh begged Press Director to keep in exchange for his 9 pm news position. Joo Eun-ho was heartbroken as she believed she was hurting and causing trouble to people around her.

By the end of Dear Hyeri episode 8, Joo Eun-ho noticed the difference between Hyeri's diary entries and her entries. Hyeri appeared to be happy because of the trivial things in life and because of her love for Kang Ju-yeon. Meanwhile, Joo Eun-ho's entries reflected that she had been unhappy, was unable to do her best at work, and that she hated herself.

One of Hyeri's entries stated a message for Joo Eun-ho that Joo Eun-ho had failed to be happy and that she, Hyeri would now step in.

Dear Hyeri episode 8 hinted that Joo Eun-ho was no longer working with PPS. Meanwhile, Kang Ju-yeon came looking for Jung Hyun-oh and asked for Joo Eun-ho’s whereabouts. Kang Ju-yeon introduced himself as Joo Eun-ho’s alter ego Hyeri's boyfriend, leaving Jung Hyun-oh surprised.
