On Monday, January 20, GOT7 released the music video of their track PYTHON. The title track belongs to their latest album Winter Heptagon.

As soon as PYTHON's MV was out, some fans dug further into the video and speculated several connections to their earlier work. The different settings depicted in the latest music video were noted to be references to their earlier releases, including Last Piece, Playground, Miracle, Hard Carry, and others.

GOT7 fans were delighted with their latest PYTHON music video and the seeming nod to their popular songs. Consequently, the group’s fans swamped the internet with their praises for the song’s MV. One user on X stated:

Various reactions from the group’s fans were seen for their title track’s music video. While some suggested that the playground scene in PYTHON MV was a reference to their song Playground, others noticed the snow globe towards the end of the video and wondered if it was a nod to their song Miracle.

“NOTICE HOW THEYRE PLAYING ON A PLAYGROUND like their song playground from their debut album please tell me im not being delulu!!!,” wrote an admirer.
“Yes! I think they referenced A LOT of previous releases GOT7 WINTER HEPTAGON EP,” commented an admirer.
“Damn, can we talk about how good the MV is? Love Python so much!,” wrote another fan.
“THIS honestly i saw so many references to different previous eras,” commented another admirer.

Several fans praised the song and described it as a “masterpiece,” while others said it was worth the wait. Another fan highlighted the references to several other songs of GOT7, like the airplane scene from Hard Carry, the snow globe from Miracle, Jay B’s sequence from Last Piece, and so on.

“Honest talk, they always give us good music but this time is something wonderful and just wow, this is a masterpiece and every second waiting for them was worth this,” commented another admirer.

GOT7's Winter Heptagon is a compilation of 9 songs

On December 20, 2024, the K-pop group officially announced the release of their newest album Winter Heptagon. The new record is the group's 12th mini album.

Following that, they revealed the availability of pre-orders for their album and shared their promotional itinerary on social media platforms. They also released the song list for the latest album, which comprised 9 songs. Here's a list of tracks from Winter Heptagon:

Following this, the highlight medley of the album came out on January 15, 2025, offering glimpses of all the songs in their Winter Heptagon compilation. The album’s title track PYTHON has been written by the bandmate BamBam, Kyle Reynolds, JOOPEPE (KOR), Nick Lee, Jason Fox, and Symphony.

The septet made their anticipated comeback as a complete ensemble with the launch of Winter Heptagon. This was their inaugural collective activity in over 3 years following the debut of their last album in May 2022.


In related news, GOT7 is commemorating its eleventh anniversary in 2025, coinciding with the debut of its latest mini album. On January 14, the band confirmed their NESTFEST concert, which would take place in Seoul. The concert is set for February 1 and 2, 2025.
