"Did they run out of questions?"— Netizens puzzled as BLACKPINK's Rosé gets asked about Benny Blanco during her recent Lie Detector Test

On January 17, BLACKPINK's Rosé participated in a Lie Detector Test with Vanity Fair. During the session, the idol answered a variety of questions, including topics related to her solo career, recent activities, her collaboration with Bruno Mars, and other random questions. One of these questions was also about American singer and record producer Benny Blanco.

The interviewer mentioned that Benny Blanco had stated that the BLACKPINK members were among his idols when they interacted back in 2019. They then asked the idol if she considered Benny Blanco one of her idols. Although the idol answered yes, the lie detector revealed that she was lying.

When this part of the interview surfaced online, fans were puzzled. Many criticized the odd nature of the question and its lack of relevance to BLACKPINK's Rosé and her current activities. They called out the unnecessary connection between the two artists and expressed their discomfort with it. One netizen on X commented:

"damn did they run out of questions? like huh who even came up with this question?"

During Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Test, BLACKPINK's Rosé addressed several things related to her recent activities. One question inquired whether her recent solo track, Toxic Till the End, was about Jaden Smith. She clarified that the two never dated and that the song wasn't about him.

However, she added that the two are good friends. Rosé also briefly talked about Bruno Mars, the American singer-songwriter with whom she recently collaborated on her solo single, APT. She revealed that she pitched three songs from her latest album for 3AM, Number One Girl, and APT., for the collaboration.

She expressed that she'll always be a fan of Bruno Mars and mentioned three of her favorite songs from his discography: Too Good To Say Goodbye, Chunky, and Locked Out of Heaven. When asked about her thoughts on a biopic of her life, she said regarding the person who would play her role:

“If I had done great things, then maybe. Somebody Asian with blonde hair that speaks Korean and English and can pull of an Australian accent.”
