The South Korean media outlet Star News recently reported that Lee Dong-wook's hit thriller and suspense drama A Shop for Killers was confirmed for a second season. The publication also added the details that the second installment would kick-start filming from April 2025.

In response to the report, an official representative from Disney+ responded that the discussions were ongoing in a positive light for the much-anticipated second installment. However, nothing has been decided yet. Additionally, the production of the second installment was mentioned in March 2024 at the Disney+ Content Lineup Media Day.

For those unversed, A Shop for Killers premiered from January 17, 2024, to February 7, 2024. The eight-episode drama aired every Wednesday. It was helmed by the director Lee Kwon and penned by screenwriter Ji Ho-jin.

A Shop of Killers was based on Kang Ji-young's novel of the same name. The drama depicts the story of an unfortunate girl who loses her parents and subsequently lives with her uncle, who has a seemingly dangerous business. He used to sell guns on the dark web.

The thriller series featured a star-studded cast, including Lee Dong-wook, Kim Hye-jun, Seo Hyun-woo, Jo Han-sun, Park Ji-bin, Geum Hae-na, Lee Tae-young, Kim Min, Ahn Gil-kang, Park Jeong-woo, and others.

Meanwhile, Lee Dong-wook took the character of Jeong Jin-man. He headed a mysterious and strange shopping mall Murthehelp, and raised his niece, Ji-an, after his entire family was killed. Kim Hye-jun took the role of Jeong Ji-an. She grew up with her uncle after losing her parents at a younger age.

A Shop for Killers was listed under the feature titled 'The 10 best K-dramas of 2024 so far' by media outlets, including Time Magazine and NME.

For those unversed, Lee Dong-wook made his acting debut with a single-episode drama after winning the grand prize in 1999. He rose to domestic stardom after appearing in a romance and comedy drama, My Girl, which aired in 2005. He is known for multiple shows, including Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Hell is Other People, Bad and Crazy, Touch Your Heart, Wild Romance, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, and other projects.

The male artist was reportedly confirmed for the upcoming series The Good Man.


A Shop for Killers is available to watch on the American subscription OTT platform Disney+. The viewers can also watch it on Hulu in the United States.
