DNA Lover starring Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, and Jung Yoo-jin premiered its second episode at 9:10 pm (KST) on TV Chosun on August 18, 2024. DNA Lover is a romantic comedy about a genetic researcher who after ending her relationship with a series of cheater boyfriends embarks to find a genetically compatible partner.
Jung In-sun plays the role of Han So-jin a researcher at the Beneficial Gene Center who is determined to find the perfect 'genetic match' she calls DNA Lover. Choi Si-won as Shim Yeon-woo a highly accomplished obstetrician and gynaecologist at Shim Hospital. He is the son of the hospital president and Lee Tae-hwan portrays So-jin's friend Seo Kang-hoon, a firefighter. Jung Yoo-jin is also in the drama DNA Lover, she plays Jang Mi-eun, a polyamorous romance columnist and also one of Yeon-woo's ex-girlfriends.

DNA Lover episode 2 recap
The second episode begins with Sim Yeon-woo being introduced to Han So-jin by her boss. After the awkward introduction where So-jin mostly tries to hide her face so he cannot recognise her. While failing miserably at that, she and her teammate A-ri notice his growing rapid sideburn. Her boss asks to help Sim with his client's parental test he is here for.
As they go through the office So-jin hopes that he does not recognise her as Yeon-woo waits for her to confess. In the meantime seeing a group of men with hairloss Yoon-woo asks So-jin about it. She tells him about Super Teol and that it is made from people's DNA specifically for their use. He remembers the spray instantly and asks more about it. She tells him that the clinical trial of the product has been successful and that it has made a rat look like a rabbit.
Though it depends on the person it can make hair grow anywhere. Hearing that he talks about hair removal but she complements his sideburn, which makes him angry. After talking about the test he asks for her number and goes to the restroom. As he washes his hands looking in the mirror, he visualizes himself as a rabbit startling himself.
In the next scene, Sim sends Han a message sarcastically thanking her for including him in her experiment. This makes her realize that he has recognised her. She berates herself for spraying Super Teol at him but argues that it is his punishment from above.
She takes her dog Shai outside and makes the dog sniff the smell of the perfume with the scents of her favourite things. She orders Shai to bark whenever he smells the scent of a man. The dog however leads her to Kang-hoon and his dog Mayo. She tells Kang-hoon that females find their partners by their smell but he protests. He gifts her a safety ball that will send a signal to his phone or his smartwatch.
The next morning, Jang Mi-eun comes back to South Korea goes to meet her mother and sees her painting. On the way to come back, she runs into her old friend Sim Yeon-woo. She asks to get food together but he refuses. His sideburn catches her eyes but before she can ask anything he runs out of there. Sim calls So-jin and asks her to meet him at his office to look into the cause of his growing sideburns.
The next morning, when she goes to his office he gives her Super Teol back with her shoe that she has left that night behind. He asks to make him an antidote. She apologises for her mistake but he asks her to make him an antidote instead and gives her 24 hours. She takes his swab for DNA taste and leaves.
Yeon-woo goes to visit his mother's house on his parents' anniversary and asks her to go out for dinner with him. However, she tells him she cannot leave the house in case his father returns. She also asks him to eat alone as she does not feel like eating. Seeing the set dinner table he remembers his mother telling him about his father leaving them when in his adolescence.
He goes to Kang-hoon's father's restaurant to get dinner instead. Kang-hoon tells him to visit his mother more. Yeon-woo in reply asks what it feels like to love just one person and Kang-hoon replies to that saying it is like a fact that the Earth is round, that never changes even if one dies. Yeon-woo says that is scary because if one person's feelings change the other has to change too.
Han So-jn does a DNA taste of Sim Yeon-woo client's and finds out she has a gene that can make her tend to commit suicide. She runs to Sim's hospital while calling him to let him know. This is the same woman Kang-hoon has saved in the first episode and she calls the number he has given her, but being on a job, he fails to pick up. This woman tries to commit suicide by jumping from the hospital's rooftop and while trying the save her Han So-jin ends up falling from the roof. Yeon-woo tries to get a hold of her but ends up falling with her.
While falling from the roof, Han So-jin gets a sniff of his smell and thinks it's amazing while Yeon-woo feels like a nerd has barged into his life.
