On January 12, 2025, NCT 127 took over the stage with their performance in the SMTown Live 2025 event hosted in Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul, South Korea. The grand event marked the 30th anniversary of the Korean entertainment company, SM Entertainment. While NCT 127 was performing their track Fact Check on stage, the team member Johnny seemingly faced some mic disturbances.
Johnny, aka Suh Young-ho, initially was trying to alert from the stage that the microphone was having troubles, but when he saw it wasn't getting fixed, he hurriedly left. The idol walked backstage to fix his microphone before returning to his spot on stage after a few moments.
Even after returning, Johnny did not lip sync with the song and instead chose not to sing his part. This was soon noticed by his fans, who came out in his support.

Johnny’s admirers flooded the internet with their reactions to the whole mic disturbance scenario. One user on X stated:
“Johnny a real one for that, don’t ever make Mr Suh mad”
Many other mixed reactions for NCT 127’s Johnny were seen online. Some argued that the team should not have made him "mad," while others blamed his management for not allowing him to sing at all.

Some said Johnny is "allergic to lipsync," while others noted that the idol was "out of mood."

NCT 127 performed their songs Walk and Fact Check at the SMTown Live 2025 Seoul event
NCT 127 captivated audiences with their energetic performances on both January 11 and 12, the two-day event. The boy band performed their tracks Walk and Fact Check for SMTown Live 2025 Seoul concert.
The group was also featured in the special stage remake, where they performed the song of their fellow SM artist. NCT 127 presented You In My Blurred Memories, which is originally the composition of another idol, Hyun Jin Young.
Besides NCT 127, several other K-pop acts became the part of SM Entertainment’s anniversary celebrations including aespa, NCT WISH, RED VELVET, WayV, TVXQ!, SES’ Bada, SUPER JUNIOR, EXO, and more.
After Seoul, SMTown Live 2025 will head to Mexico City and Los Angeles in May before ending in Tokyo in August.
