“Don't know how you're planning to deal with the consequences”- ENHYPEN's Jungwon shuts down dating and smoking rumors in recent Weverse live

On December 12, 2024, ENHYPEN’s leader, Jungwon, directly confronted currently circulating rumors about his personal life during a Weverse live session. This came in response to allegations linking him romantically to aespa’s Winter and accusations of smoking, both of which had garnered significant attention online.

Jungwon firmly denied the claims. He further questioned how the individuals behind the rumors would manage the consequences of their actions once legal measures are taken. As translated by an X user, @woncattos, he said:

"I don't date, I don't smoke and I don't know how you're planning to deal with the consequences of what you posted."

For those unaware, the dating speculation began after an anonymous post alleged that Jungwon and Winter were seen together at a bar in Seoul. The post with blurry images and videos was shared as supposed evidence.

The uploader claimed that Winter left the location in a taxi, followed shortly by Jungwon. However, the low-quality visuals provided no conclusive proof, leading many to dismiss the claims.

Jungwon and aespa's respective agencies denied the dating rumours

After the rumors spread like wildfire, both SM Entertainment, representing Winter, and BELIFT LAB, managing Jungwon, promptly denied the allegations. SM Entertainment clarified that the accusations were unfounded and revealed that the individual who circulated the images had initially sought monetary gain. The label's statement read:

"They are groundless. The person who distributed the photo tried to contact the media outlet for monetary gain and communicate directly with us, but when the media outlet refused, saying that they cannot connect reports for monetary gain, they distributed the photo maliciously, we will take legal action.”

BELIFT LAB also announced its intent to pursue legal action against privacy violations and defamatory statements. As per reports published on December 11, 2024, by a South Korean media outlet, OSEN, the label stated:

"The dating rumors are not true. Belift Lab will take strong action against acts that invade the artist's privacy and create and spread malicious rumors."

Apart from the dating controversy, another social media post accused him of smoking, sharing an alleged photo of him outside at night. The post was accompanied by disparaging remarks questioning his character. The ENHYPEN member dismissed this claim during his livestream, reiterating that he does not smoke and expressed disappointment over such baseless allegations.
