On January 8, 2025, BTS member Jungkook caused a stir among fans by unfollowing everyone from the Instagram account he had created for his pet Doberman, Bam. The account, @bowwow_bam, was launched in April 2024 and features glimpses of Bam’s life, including training sessions and bath time moments. With over 6 million followers, the account's bio simply reads,
"Have a good BAM"
Initially, Jungkook had followed several of his close friends from the account, including his fellow '97-liner peers like SEVENTEEN's Mingyu, ASTRO's Eunwoo, Stray Kids’ Bang Chan, and GOT7’s Yugyeom.
However, his recent decision to unfollow everyone has sent fans into a frenzy, sparking concerns about whether he plans to delete this account as well. An X user, @taespaJKarina wrote,
"Don't tell me he is going to delete this account too......"
Others also joined in to express similar thoughts.
"Next thing we know acc is gone," an X user wrote.
"Just don't touch delete/ deact button then we r okayy," a fan commented.
"will he also delete his ig bam acc," a user added.
"What in the name of mood swing is happening bammie appa," a netizen remarked.
Others chimed in, suggesting it could be something done casually and should not be taken seriously.
"He's probably just doing something sillay but people will turn this into something serious.....," a fan mentioned.
"Sometimes i just dont think or dwell on what boys do and go with the flow. Let him do his thing You go Jungkook do whatver tf you want baby," an X user mentioned.
More about BTS' Jungkook and his social media accounts
This reaction from fans is fueled by Jungkook’s history of unexpectedly deleting his personal Instagram account in February 2023, which had over 50 million followers at the time. The idol famously stated he had deleted it "just because he felt like it." Fans are now worried that the same fate might befall Bam’s account, especially since Jungkook recently removed the dog’s profile from the Threads app as well.
The BTS member's playful and spontaneous online presence has always kept fans on their toes. Known for his unconventional ways of interacting with fans in his Weverse lives, he has previously hosted extended live sessions where he sings, chats, and even naps in front of millions of viewers.
However, since enlisting in the military in December 2023, his online interactions have become less frequent, leaving fans longing for his updates.
With his military discharge anticipated in June 2025, fans are holding onto the hope that his Instagram account for Bam will remain active. Many have taken to social media to express their concern, humorously pleading for the artist not to delete yet another connection to his life.
For now, the @bowwow_bam account remains intact, meanwhile, he has deleted his dog's account on the Threads app completely. Fans can only wait and see what Jungkook has in store for them next.
