On June 8, 2024, Billboard reported that BTS frontman Kim Namjoon, aka RM, debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart with Right Place, Wrong Person. He became the second BTS member to enter the Top 10 for the second time with his second solo album. His debut solo record, Indigo, charted at No. 3 in December 2022.

Meanwhile, the GRAMMY-nominated musician released his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, on May 24, 2024. As of June 2024, all BTS members have ranked their solo albums in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. RM's new solo album became the eighth entrant on the American music chart by a member of BTS, while member Kim Seokjin has yet to release a solo album.

Here is the list of the BTS members whose solo albums ranked in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200™:

  • Kim Namjoon (RM) — Indigo / December 2022
  • Park Jimin — FACE / April 2023
  • Min Yoongi (SUGA) — D-DAY / May 2023
  • Jung Hoseok (j-hope) — Jack in The Box / September 2023
  • Kim Taehyung (V) — Layover / September 2023
  • Jeon Jungkook — GOLDEN / November 2023
  • Jung Hoseok (j-hope) — Hope on the Street Vol.1 / April 2024
  • Kim Namjoon (RM) — Right Place, Wrong Person / June 2024

Namjoon dominated 60% of Billboard charts and topped the Top Rap Albums Chart

Billboard reported that Right Place, Wrong Person peaked at no. 1 on the list on June 8, 2024, on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart. The album sold 54,000 equivalent album copies in the United States during the week that ended on May 30, 2024. Traditional album sales account for 43,000 units during the album's opening week.

Furthermore, the streaming activity (SEA) accounts for 7,500 units or 10.16 million official on-demand plays of the album's tracks. In addition, the South Korean musician occupied 60% of the American music chart, according to Forbes.

On the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, the BTS member's performance is noteworthy. Namjoon has six debuts and 60% of the total ranking under their belt across Billboard's multiple charts.

Tracking the top-charting rap songs in the United States, Namjoon simultaneously added six tracks, including Nuts, Right Place, Wrong Person, Groin, Domodachi (feat. Little Simz), out of love, and ? (Interlude) from his latest May 2024 release.

Additionally, on June 4, 2024, Right Place, Wrong Person debuted on the Top Album Sales chart in second place. Namjoon's second solo album sold 43,000 copies in its opening week in the United States. Unlike the Billboard 200, which employs a formula that counts streaming activity, the Top Album Sales chart tally solely calculates the pure album units purchased by people.

Meanwhile, on June 6, the album topped Billboard's Top Rap Album chart and ranked at No.1. The chart calculates the total streaming activities and album sales to determine the most-consumed rap full-lengths in the United States. Namjoon became the second K-pop and Korean musician to top the list after BTS' SUGA, who earned his No.1 place with his solo album, D-DAY.

In other news, RM is currently serving in the South Korean military since December 2023, and he released his second solo record, Right Place, Wrong Person, via his agency, BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels).
