Seokjin and Coldplay's friendship to reportedly make an appearance again in April 2025
BTS' Jin and Coldplay’s collaboration and growing bond have been celebrated widely. Their friendship began during their collaboration on the song My Universe in 2021.
The song, part of Coldplay's Music of the Spheres album, was a powerful example of how two global music icons could come together to create something that can be loved by everyone. The collaboration not only showcased their artistic synergy but also led to a deeper friendship between Jin and Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin.
Their bond became more apparent when Jin announced his solo single, The Astronaut, co-written with Chris Martin. Infact, this song was specially requested by the BTS member to the group. This track, released in 2022, served as a heartfelt farewell before Seokjin enlisted in the military.
The song's lyrics reflected his feelings about his temporary departure from BTS, but also because Coldplay was instrumental in its creation, contributing to both the writing and production.
A special moment of their collaboration occurred during Coldplay's concert in Buenos Aires in 2022, where Jin performed The Astronaut live with the band. The performance was filled with emotion, especially as Chris Martin introduced Jin, sharing how much the song meant to both of them. Martin spoke about their connection, emphasizing how Jin's journey and the song were deeply personal.
And now in the coming April, Coldplay is reportedly returning to the land of BTS, Korea. Fans can’t help but be curious and wait, deeming that there’s no way Seokjin won’t perform or attend Coldplay’s concert, especially since it’s in Korea. However, they’re eager to find out if he’s really the “mystery guest” they are talking about or not.
In several interviews, Coldplay has expressed their admiration for BTS, and Chris Martin has mentioned how much he respects Jin, particularly for his humility and kindness. This friendship goes beyond just music as it’s a mutual respect and understanding between artists from different worlds.
Coldplay has officially announced their upcoming world tour, with dates scheduled for various locations across Asia, the UK, and beyond. As part of their highly anticipated "Music of the Spheres" tour, the band will perform in London and Hull, as well as several major cities in Asia.
