Singer-actor IU and actor Park Bo-gum’s long-awaited drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines, is finally set to hit the screens. Director, Kim Won-seok, shared the update by My Daily via Naver on December 21, 2024. The release date has been confirmed as March 2025. While the director mentioned that some post-production work remains, it’s quite evident that filming has been completed.

This marks IU’s second project with Kim Won-seok following their highly acclaimed drama My Mister. Fans are thrilled by the news and eagerly anticipate the drama's premiere. Fans have expressed their longing and excitement via Twitter (X):

My Mister's Director Kim Won-seok announces the release date for IU and Park Bo-gum's drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines

On December 20, a special GV (Guest Visit) event for the drama Misaeng was held at the CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Misaeng is a 2014 Korean series that is based on a workplace drama featuring stars like Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Kang So-ra, etc.

This above-mentioned event was the celebration of the show's 10th release anniversary. Attending the event were director Kim Won-seok, along with cast members Im Si-wan, Lee Sung-min, Kim Dae-myung, Kang So-ra, Kang Ha-neul, and Byun Yo-han, as well as writers Yoon Tae-ho and Jung Yoon-jung.

During the event, Director Kim shared his plans for the end of the year, stating:

“There is still some post-production work left to complete for a drama scheduled for release in March next year.”

He referenced this to the IU and Park Bo-gum drama When Life Gives You Tangerines or You Have Done Well (alternate title). He expressed his hopes, saying:

“I hope it will be as entertaining as Misaeng,”

The new Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines follows the adventurous lives of Ae-soon (played by IU), a bold and rebellious girl born in Jeju, and Gwan-sik (played by Park Bogum), a steadfast and devoted man. The cast includes IU, Park Bo-gum, Moon So-ri, and Park Hae-joon.

The news about this series dates back to almost two years ago, in January 2023. After the series was announced on January 27, 2023, IU and Park Bo-gum were announced as leads. Since then the fans have been waiting upon the bits and pieces of information of the drama as they are eager to see the pairing together.
