On Tuesday, October 1, JYP Entertainment released the official album cover poster for Stray Kids' upcoming second Japanese album, GIANT. While fans were thrilled about the new music from the K-pop boy group, they also criticized the agency for their lack of effort in creating a proper cover for Stray Kids' new album.

Soon after the poster landed on the internet, netizens began to speculate that the design was made with the use of Artificial Intelligence. People expressed that certain qualities of the album cover, such as the blurry and patchy spots and the generic imagery, alluded to the alleged use of AI.

Here are a few reactions from fans regarding the K-pop boy group's Japanese album's cover:

"i don't wanna be this person but this looks like it's ai made, i hope it's not fr, but something about the details and the blurry-like parts of the stairs thing and parts that dont look right is giving ai, which -if true- is actually extremely frustrating"
"As a designer it hurts me to see them use generative AI… like why??? I bet there are so many good designers out there that could've done an amazing job but no, you don't want to pay them so you make this…" said a fan on X.
"ugly AND ai created? bro pick a struggle (don’t, please just pay actual artists and you won’t have any of the issues i promise) added another fan.

More netizens talked about the album cover and expressed their displeasure over JYP Entertainment's alleged use of AI.

"we should all be mad as hell about generative ai sneaking into creative spaces. we cannot let skz's team keep getting away with using ai to make their ALBUM COVERS of all things" commented an X user
"i’m excited for new music but it’s so disappointing seeing this ai slop it looks like sh*t" said a netizen on X
"why is it giving big foot, come on jyp you can do better than ai trash.." added another netizen on X
