BLACKPINK's Lisa has officially shut down recent rumors by showing support for her bandmate Jennie’s latest release. On October 11, 2024, Jennie dropped her new single Mantra, and all three BLACKPINK members, including Lisa, shared posts about it via their Instagram stories.
Leading up to this, fans had accused Lisa of not supporting her fellow members’ solo projects, fueling speculation that there was tension within the group. However, with her post promoting Mantra, she not only dismissed the rumors but also reaffirmed her bond with the group, proving that the members remain close friends.
“Lisa, jisoo and rosé supporting jennie’s mantra… oh this is FAMILY,” a fan stated.
“She always sends love and support to Blackpink,” a fan claimed.
Some other fans shared that they were too quick to judge the Blankpink member. They said,
"You will never be the villain they all make you to be,” a fan assured.
“Haters stay mad jenlisa for life,” another fan claimed.
“She always supports other girls too. Yall, just too soon to judge!!” Another fan said.
Lisa's support for her BLACKPINK members comes to light
BLACKPINK's official contract with YG Entertainment ended in August 2023, marking the start of a new chapter for each of the members as they embarked on solo projects. Since the beginning of their solo careers, all four members, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa have consistently shown their support for one another.
Whenever one member released a project, the others would often take to social media, sharing posts or stories to cheer on the new release and reaffirm their bond.
However, a recent incident sparked controversy when Jennie teased her new single Mantra. While Jisoo and Rosé quickly commented on Jennie's Instagram post announcing the song, the youngest member's absence from the comments caught the attention of fans.
Many began to speculate and express frustration, accusing her of not showing the same level of support as the other members. Some fans even went as far as to claim that she had been less supportive of the group recently, alleging that she no longer posts about the other members’ solo endeavors.
The backlash grew rapidly, with some fans leaving angry and hateful comments, calling Lisa out for what they perceived as a lack of solidarity. Others defended her, pointing out that she had been busy with her own projects herself and might have simply overlooked posting about Jennie’s new release.
Supporters of the Money singer emphasized that she likely has a lot on her plate, especially with her own solo work and future releases.
Despite the criticism, she silenced her detractors on the day Mantra was officially released. She took to Instagram, posting a story featuring Jennie's photo with the enthusiastic caption,
"Omg!!!! You ate girl. So happy for you sis."
Jennie quickly acknowledged this gesture by reposting the story and responding with a heartfelt
"Thankyouuuuu."
The Moonlit Floor singer's post effectively put an end to the swirling rumors that there was tension between the members or that she was no longer supportive.
In a previous incident, anti-fans had even gone so far as to post pictures of Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé without Lisa, implying that she was being excluded from the group. However, her show of support for Jennie firmly shut down these rumors and reaffirmed the close bond between the members.
BLACKPINK also recently celebrated their eighth anniversary as a group on August 8, 2024, reminding fans that despite their solo ventures, the members remain connected and supportive of one another.
