This Coupang Play drama is a collaboration between screenwriter Kim Jung Min, known for Hush and Suits, and twin directors Kim Gok and Kim Sun, best known for On the Line and Land Mine.

Family Plan: Plot and cast

The filming for Family Plan began in December 2023, and the series is set for release on November 29, 2024.

In Family Plan, a group of individuals with special abilities adopt the guise of a family to protect themselves from heinous criminals. Han Young-soo is a caring mother who possesses a unique ability. Meanwhile, her husband, Baek Cheol-hee, hides his power and despite his timid nature, deeply loves his wife.

Baek Gang-sung, the blunt grandfather, has a tough exterior but is deeply protective of his family. The family's teenage children, 17-year-olds Baek Ji-hoon and Baek Ji-woo, have contrasting personalities. Ji-hoon is warm and gentle, while Ji-woo is sensitive and particular.

A recent script reading for Family Plan revealed the cast lineup, which includes Bae Doona as Han Young-soo, a mother with special abilities who is affectionate toward her children. The actress shared her excitement about the project, saying:

“I’ve been waiting for a long time because the script was so much fun.”

Lomon plays the warm and gentle son, Baek Ji-hoon, in this upcoming K-drama, who described it as an honor to work alongside talented senior actors. Lee Su-hyun portrays Baek Ji-woo, the prickly and sensitive daughter, sharing that she was half excited and half nervous about working with the esteemed cast.

Ryu Seung-bum plays Baek Chul-hee, a timid man who conceals his abilities but is a devoted and loving husband. The actor expressed his commitment to the project, as he said,

Bae Doona, the South Korean actress and photographer, is known internationally for her diverse roles. She gained recognition abroad with performances as a political activist in Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, an archer in The Host, and a doll in Air Doll.
