Ji Jin-hee and Choi Min-ho are confirmed to star in the upcoming JTBC drama, Family X Melo directed by Kim Da-ye and written by Kim Yeong-Woon. The new character stills including Ji Jin Hee, Kim Ji Soo, Son Naeun, Minho from SHINee, and Sanha from ASTRO, were unveiled on July 8.
The drama which is releasing on August 10 will air every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 pm following Miss Day and Night.
Delving into complex family dynamics, the show falls into the genres of family, romance, and drama.
Family X Melo: Cast and Plot
Ji Jin-hee, Choi Min-ho, Yoon San-ha, Kim Ji-soo, and Son Na-eun will come together for Family x Melo, the upcoming JTBC drama. While Yoon San-ha will be seen in a guest role, the rest of the actors will be seen in the lead.
Ji Jin-hee portrays the character of Byun Moo-jin in the play, who, after being cut off by his family as a symbol of failed financial ventures, resurfaces as the owner of the villa where they reside. After his firm failed decades ago, Byun Moo-jin took his divorce and left his family. 14 years later, he becomes a billionaire and resurfaces in front of his wife and daughter.
After making a comeback with massive wealth and influence, he is aggressively pursuing Geum Ae-yeon, played by Kim Ji-soo, his ex-wife. His daughter, Byun Mi-rae, played by Son Na-eun, however, does not trust him and is the main antagonist in his relationship.
The story centres around this situation which will also create a heart-stopping love triangle around it. Choi Min-ho will portray Nam Tae-pyong, a former member of the Taekwondo national team who is now a security guard.

Ji Jin-hee has been adored by his fans for his consistent good work. In particular, he demonstrated his talent by portraying the face of evil in Netflix's original series D.P. Season 2 as Gu Ja-woon, the chief of law at the Armed Forces headquarters against the 103rd Division's military police investigation department, after his explosive performances in JTBC's Misty, tvN's 60 Days: Designated Survivor, and JTBC's Undercover.
Apart from being a rapper, singer, dancer and model, Choi Min-ho also has bagged for himself some good acting roles. On November 20, 2010, Choi Minho made his acting debut in the drama special Pianist on KBS2. In Pianist, he plays the character of Oh Je-ro, the piano repair man who has great potential. He is famous for his roles such as Oh Dong-shik in Lovestruck in the City, Soo-ho in Hwarang, and Chae Woo-ki in Yumi's Cells.
This will be the first time the two will be working together.
