Family by Choice is an adaptation of the Chinese drama ‘Go Ahead’

The 2024 K-drama, Family By Choice, has been made under Kim Seung-ho’s direction. The story of the show is an adaptation of the Chinese drama titled ‘Go Ahead,’ which was released in 2020. The series will have a total of sixteen episodes, with two new episodes releasing every Wednesday. The runtime for each episode is around one hour and ten minutes.

The story of Family By Choice revolves around Kim San-ha (Hwang In-yeop), Yoon Ju-won (Jung Chae-yeon), and Kang Hae-jun (Bae Hyeon-seong), who aren’t linked by blood but very close to each other.

Ju-won's father, Jeong-jae (Choi Won-young), and San-ha's father, Dae-uk (Choi Moo-sung), raised the three teenagers. They did their best to give them a happy childhood while they got over past pain. But when they were adults, San-ha and Hae-jun went to find their real families and left Ju-won behind.

Ten years later, the five people who once were family get back together, but things aren't the same as they were before. Ju-won is angry that San-ha and Hae-jun left her. The two boys, on the other side, are having trouble with their own family problems and new feelings for Ju-won.
