Squid Game is a 2021 South Korean TV series that Netflix released. It revolves around a survival plot where a large crowd of contestants are gathered to play children's games. While the contestants are offered an attractive price in return for their participation in the games, they soon realize that the stakes for these challenges are deadly.

Therefore, the tense and high stakes of these children's games that are otherwise played in a light-hearted manner are what brought much attention to the show. Many viewers were intrigued by the show's unique twist to everyday games. With the recent release of its second season, fans have revived the topic of the challenges' high-risk rates for discussion.

While all the games have the potential to kill the contestants, the survival rates of the games played in Squid Game differ from one another. The following article will rank eight games played in Squid Game from easiest to hardest.

Squid Game challenges based on its survival rates: Six Legs, Tug of War, and more

1) Six Legs

Six Legs is a challenge that requires the contestants to work in teams of four. It is expected to be one of the least difficult games to compete in. The teams are expected to walk around a track with the four members' legs tied together.

While they make their walk around the track, they are also expected to compete and finish small games. Of the 365 contestants who participated in the came, 255 people survived it, making its death rate reach only up to 30.1%.

2) Red Light Green Light

The next Squid Game challenge in line is Red Light Green Light, played in both seasons of the show. The game required the contestants to walk and get past a line mark when the monitoring doll wasn't looking. If a participant moves and the doll catches them, the contestant gets killed immediately. Out of the 912 players, 566 people survived the challenge, making its death rate come up to around 37.9%.

3) Dalgona

Dalgona is another children's game requiring contestants to cut out a particular shape from the Dalgona sweet without breaking the sweet. The shapes can also differ from one contestant to another, but they ideally come in shapes of triangles, circles, umbrellas, and stars.

Of the 187 players, 101 people survived the fame, making the game's death rate come to around 42.2%. Therefore, participants for Dalgona in Squid Game have almost a 50% chance of dying.

4) Squid Game

In the series, we only see two characters fighting against each other in this challenge, Gi-hun and Sang-woo, and only one survives. This gives the game an exact 50% survival rate.

5) Marbles

Leading up to the harder challenges on Squid Game is Marbles, which was showcased in season one. A contestant can pair with another contestant of their choice, and they're both holding ten marbles.

The person who takes all ten marbles from the other contestants wins the game. In the show, 32 people participated in the challenge, and only 16 survived, making it yet another challenge with a 50% survival rate.

6) Tug of War

The next challenge in line is Tug of War, again showcased in the first season of the series. The game requires two groups of contestants pulling a rope, and the group that overpowers the other wins the game. Therefore, 80 players participated in the game, 40 players on each side. Given its 50% survival rate, only 40 players survived the challenge.

7) Mingle

Inching higher on the death rate is the challenge called Mingle, which is a carousel game. The contestants are instructed to go into rooms with the number that matched the number of people that were called. If the contestant enters the wrong numbered room, they will be killed. Out of the 255 players who participated, only 100 survived, making the death rate around 60.8%.
