From Song Joong-ki to TWICE’s Dahyun: Inside the star-studded BIFF 2024 red carpet

On Wednesday, October 2, the week-long ceremony of the BIFF 2024 (Busan International Film Festival) was kickstarted. As a commemoratory event, the ceremony started with a star-studded red carpet where South Korean celebrities from several entertainment industry fields were spotted.

Some of the BIFF 2024 red carpet attendees included Ji Chang-wook, TWICE's Dahyun, Park Bo-young, Kim Min-ju, and more. However, representatives from other Asian entertainment industries, like Thailand and Japan, were also present at the ceremony. The Busan International Film Festival is an annual ceremony held at Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea. It is considered one of Asia's most important and looked-forward-to film festivals.

Its first event was rolled out 28 years ago, in 1996, and the main intent behind the film festival is to introduce new films and first-time directors from countries across Asia. This year's event will be taking place between October 2 and October 11 at the Busan Cinema Center. It holds a total of 279 films from 63 countries scheduled for screening.

While fans were excited to see all the stars gathered at the red carpet event for the 29th Busan International Film Festival, fans were most excited to see TWICE's Dahyun make a debut as an actress. This was the first time Dahyun was spotted rolling out activities as an actress. It followed the idol's independent film release, Sprint, which will premiere at BIFF 2024.

Additionally, Ji Chang-wook's upcoming eight-episode K-drama series, Gangnam B-Side, will also be premiered at the 29th Busan International Film Festival. The movie is slated for release on November 6 and will be accessible for streaming on Disney Plus.
