Squid Game 2 continued to dominate the screens of international and domestic viewers with its intriguing storyline, versatile actors, thought-provoking themes, concepts of vulnerability, family, conflict, kindness, morality, greed, humanity, and other traits of humankind. Following its release on December 26, 2024, the second installment created history, debuting at the No.1 place in 93 countries where Netflix is available.

The seven-episode drama was set after three years when the protagonist Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) won the Squid Game, taking home 45.6 billion Korean won. He embarked on a journey to capture the mastermind behind the game and put an end to the deadly game.

Many Squid Game 2 actors are not only talented in the field of acting but have showcased their versatility as musicians in South Korea. Below are the four personalities who have made a name in the world of the K-pop industry through their vocals and dancing skills.


Squid Game 2 actors cum musicians: T.O.P, Im Siwan, Jo Yu-ri, and others

1) T.O.P

T.O.P, aka Choi Seung-hyun, portrayed the character of Thanos/ Player No.230 in Squid Game 2. He has expertise in rapping, singing, songwriting, and acting. He performed as an underground rapper at multiple hip-hop clubs under the stage name Tempo. He subsequently emerged as the winner of KBS Radio's Rap Battle. The male artist sent multiple demos with Kwon. He sent it to the CEO of Yang Hyun-suk, who later invited him to audition.

Initially, he was rejected by the agency for being chubby. Subsequently, he worked hard and lost 20 kgs in 40 days to join the record label. After six months, he gave the second audition and was selected. He made his debut with BigBang on August 19, 2006, at Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena at the YG Family's tenth anniversary. He made his debut as a soloist on June 21, 2010, with the digital single Turn It Up. He left BigBang on May 30, 2023, to focus on his solo career.

He has contributed to multiple records, including BIGBANG, Rush, Always, Stand Up, GD & TOP, Flower Road, Secret Message OST, Made, and others.


2) Im Siwan

Im Siwan breathed life into the character of Lee Myeong-gi/Player No.333 in the dystopian drama Squid Game 2. He is a multifaceted individual with an expertise in singing and acting. The male artist is managed by Plum Entertainment. He began his musical career after joining a nine-member band, Children of Empire. He underwent three years of training. The band delivered electrifying guerrilla performances throughout South Korea.

The Squid Game 2 actor made his official debut as a musician on January 7, 2010, with his extended play, Nativity, under the name ZE: A. He also became a member of the group's su-unit ZE: A-Five. He has contributed to multiple albums, including Lovability, Spectacular, Phoenix, First Homme, and other records.

He released many singles, such as Tick Tock (feat. Urban Zakapa's Jo Hyun-ah), Fly Your Kite (feat. AKMU's Lee Chanhyuk), and Win For You (feat. aespa's Winter). He further made contributions to the original soundtrack, such as But Still..Soo for Misaeng: Incomplete Life, My Heart for The King in Love, I And You for Run, Fire for Tracer, and Take Me Home for Boyhood.


3) Jo Yu-ri

Jo Yu-ri took the role of Kim Jun-hui, aka Player No. 222, in the second installment of the dystopian, and thriller drama, Squid Game 2. She kickstarted her musical career by participating in Mnet's survival reality program Idol School. She was placed at the 15th place. Later, she joined the show Produce 48, where she ranked in third place.

Subsequently, she formed part of the newly formed girl group Iz*one. She made her official debut with the band on October 29, 2018, with the release of Color*lz. She went on to debut as a soloist on October 7, 2021, by releasing a single album, Glassy, through Wake One Entertainment. It featured three tracks, including Glassy, Express Honest Moon, and Autumn Memories.

She has been credited to multiple albums, including Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Major, Love All, Taxi, Loveable, and other records. The female artist has also sung several Original Sound Tracks, such as My Love for Do You Like Brahms?, Lost Dreams for Street Woman Fighter 2, Spring Days Pass for Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, and other pieces.


4) Lee Byung-hun

Lee Byung-hun played the role of Hwang In-ho/Player No.001 in Squid Game 2. Apart from having a successful acting career under his belt, the veteran actor has made contributions to the world of music. The male artist unveiled the album Lee Byung Hun- To Me in 1999, followed by a single, Itsuka (Someday), in 2008.

He also released original soundtracks namely, Stay and Endless Road, for the 2009 drama Iris. The Squid Game 2 actor was a featured artist in PSY's 2007 music video I LUV IT.


Meanwhile, Squid Game 2 featured other talented actors who have made a name in the K-pop industry. These include Wi Ha-joon, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Gong Yoo.
