(G)I-DLE's Soyeon is reportedly in talks of joining HYBE LABELS’ subsidiary KOZ Entertainment founded by K-pop rapper Zico. On August 8, E Daily, a South Korean media agency published an exclusive report on Soyeon's alleged plans of looking into other agencies as her contract with Cube Entertainment will soon expire in November this year.

KOZ Entertainment is forming a new team which may be Soyeon's team, as per the reports. Former Cube Entertainment employees who have worked with the (G)I-DLE leader have already reportedly joined the team at KOZ Entertainment, and this further ignited rumors of her joining the agency.

E Daily’s report suggests other agencies like Big Planet have also showcased their interest in Soyeon. Meanwhile, KOZ Entertainment has reportedly remained silent on the rumors about Soyeon joining them, stating,

"The artists may have met as personal friends, but there was absolutely no prior contact with a contract in mind or anything like that.”

(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon's solo stage controversy at a recent concert revolving around contract expiration with Cube Ent

On August 3, the K-pop rapper made headlines for the revised version of her song Is this bad b****** number?, during the solo stage performance of (G)I-DLE's I-DOL Concert in Seoul at KSPO Dome. The lyrics included hints of her exclusive contract expiration with Cube Entertainment.

The lyrics stated,

“Contract ends in November, who’s stopping me?"

At first, it was reported that Cube Entertainment confirmed being unaware of the performance and it was a sudden action by the artist herself.

After the news circulated on social media, on August 6, the singer took to Instagram, where she explained the motive behind the lyrics to be just for fun and to make it more enjoyable for her fans.

She stated,

“We've been through a lot of things together for more than 10 years. I do not have negative feelings towards the company just from reading articles in the media because if the words are conveyed a bit differently, it can be different from the intention.”

The (G)I-DLE member also denied the claims and added that the performance was rehearsed several times and the agency was aware of it. On August 6, Cube Entertainment issued an official statement through their social media page regarding the revised lyrics in Is this bad b****** number? for the solo performance.

The company apologized to the fans who had been concerned about the artist and stated,

“We were aware of the stage performance & the lyrics of Is this bad b****** number?nin advance."

Cube Entertainment confirmed that the mentioned time for the contract expiration aligned and that they have been amicably negotiating the contract renewal with the (G)I-DLE leader.
