On September 11, 2024, Nicki Minaj gave a shoutout to BLACKPINK's Jennie and Lisa through her Instagram story, as the K-Pop idols wore press on nails from Minaj's brand Pink Friday Nails, leaving the internet divided with multiple reactions.
BLACKPINK's Jennie shared an Instagram update on September 7 where she was donning Pink Friday Nails. Subsequently, Trinidadian rapper and singer-songwriter took to her Instagram story, reposting the part where Jennie shared the nail brand, captioning the update as 'Hi Jennie' and adding a link to her website.
Nicki Minaj also uploaded a picture of BLACKPINK'S Lisa wearing nails from her band via Instagram story and tagged the official account of the K-pop artist. She further mentioned that the viewers could shop the nail style 'Pardon My French in Sweet Cherry- Almond' from the official website of the brand.
Subsequently, Nicki's Instagram stories circulated on social media and went viral, drawing mixed reactions. While some were elated about the latest interactions, others felt let down.
The disappointment was due to Minaj's alleged decision to support her husband Kenneth Petty, who has been accused of r*ping Jennifer Hough in New York in 1994. An X user tweeted:
"Get her away from pinks omg."
While some fans speculated that Nicki Minaj might collaborate with BLACKPINK's Lisa or Jennie for a record, others expressed their elation about the latest interaction.
"Omg what’s happening first lisa and now jennie are we getting a collab or what," a fan reacted.
"I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS," a fan shared.
"Nickii should be featuring @blackpink with music video one frame, break the vevo, break the billboard, break rhe internet, break the billboard," a fan commented.
Meanwhile, some fans on the social media platform Reddit opposed the interaction and concluded Nicki Minaj should not interact with BLACKPINK's Jennie and Lisa.
