On the morning of August 27, 2024, Studio Dragon, the production company of the highly acclaimed South Korean television series Queen of Tears shared a screenshot. The image depicts fictional text messages between the drama's lead characters, Hong Hae-in and Baek Hyun-woo.

In the conversation, the husband, Baek Hyun-woo, attempted to appease his wife, Hong Hae-in, by expressing his hope that she was feeling less angry. He wrote,

"Haein, I hope you're feeling a little less angry..🥺"

Hong Hae-in responded with a message of her own, making her anger evident,

"What? you crazy?"

Which made Baek Hyun-woo go,

"Oops..."

Studio Dragon expressed their desire for the couple's conversation to be, as shared in the caption of their post,

"Hyun-woo and Hae-in's message is released! (Actually, my wish😝) #눈물의여왕 #QueenofTears"

The company utilized social media platforms to release these images, generating significant excitement among the drama's dedicated fan base. One fan excitedly wrote,

"Now give us BaekHong unreleased contents!"

The first episode of the 2024 drama premiered on March 9 and aired every Saturday and Sunday on tvN until April 28, 2024. This drama achieved remarkable success and popularity, becoming the third-highest-rated series in Korean cable television history for viewership ratings and the second-highest by the number of viewers.

As soon as the images were shared on social media, the dedicated fans took to X to express their excitement.

"WE ARE ANGRY!! NOW GIVE US THE LONG VERSION OF KISS SCENES AND DELETED SCENES" one fan wrote excitedly.

The synopsis of Queen of Tears says,

"The queen of department stores and the prince of supermarkets weather a marital crisis, until love miraculously begins to bloom again."

Queen of Tears delves into the marital struggles and subsequent rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in, the third-generation heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo, the youngest son of farmers from Yongdu-ri.

The renowned actress Kim Ji-won portrayed the character of Hong Hae-in, the CEO of Queen's Department Store. She is a third-generation chaebol heiress and the granddaughter of the Queen's family. The acclaimed actor Kim Soo-hyun plays Baek Hyun-woo, Hae-in's husband and the legal director of Queen's Group. He was born in the picturesque rural area of Yongdu-ri and became a lawyer after graduating from the prestigious Seoul National University.

The drama also featured Park Sung-hoon as Yoon Eun-sung, Hae-in's university acquaintance. He portrayed the character of a former Wall Street analyst who returns to South Korea as a renowned investor.

In addition, the drama featured an exceptionally gifted supporting cast, including Lee Dong-yeon, Lee Joo-bin, Yoon Bo-mi, Kim Kap-soo, Lee Mi-sook, Kim Jung-nan, Jeon Bae-soo, Hwang Young-hee, and many others.

Queen of Tears was written by Park Ji-eun, the writer of celebrated dramas such as My Love from the Star (2013–2014), The Legend of the Blue Sea (2016), Crash Landing on You (2019-2020), and many more.

The television series Queen of Tears achieved a remarkable nationwide rating of 24.850% for its concluding episode, making it the highest-rated series on the tvN network. This accomplishment surpassed the previous record held by Crash Landing on You.
