“Glad he had a good short vacay”- Fans react as BTS' Taehyung shares bittersweet thoughts on snow, allegedly hinting at duties in military

On Friday, November 29, BTS' Taehyung posted a Weverse moment talking about snowfall in South Korea and his recent vacation. The idol took a short leave from the military recently, and this was revealed by the two videos that landed on the internet. One was regarding the recent Celine event that the idol attended with Park Bo-gum on November 27.

The other post was a dance practice video that Taehyung rolled out alongside the dancer Leejung Lee, a South Korean choreographer who's part of the NWX dance crew. Following the same, on November 29, the idol uploaded a Weverse post that hinted that the idol was back in the military after his short vacation. In the post, the idol said that he enjoyed the snowfall in South Korea for three days.

However, he also added that he hoped for the snowfall to reduce or stop while hinting at his military duties. Here's what his post read:

"It was just 3 days but... I was happy...It was great that it snowed for a bit but I hope that it doesn't snow anymore as it's really tiring to do the snow removal operations..."

Many netizens stated that the South Korean military soldiers, especially the trainees, are often assigned snow removal operations and shovelling duties. This is to control the roads during the heavy snowfall during the winter in South Korea. Fans hoped that the shovelling duties don't get too heavy or tiring for Taehyung.

BTS' V, otherwise known as Kim Tae-hyung is currently serving his mandatory military service. The idol enlisted back in December 2023, and is expected to be discharged in June 2025. He works at the Ssangyong Unit of the 2nd Corps under the Special Task Force of the Military Police Corps.

Regardless of Taehyung's enlistement, he has been active in the indsutry as he pre-recorded song releases and other content tht he prepared before his enlistment. In March 2024, the idol released a single called FRI(END)S, and followed it up with a photobook release called Type 1 in July. He also rolled out a vinyl version of his solo debut album, LayoVer, in October.

Most recently, on November 29, the idol released his collaborative single, Winter Ahead, with the South Korean singer, Park Hyo-shin. The song also accompanied a music video featuring both the artists, and it was directed by the renowned MV director Lee Han-gyeol.

Taking a brief break from military service, Taehyung attended a Celine event on November 27 where he was spotted hanging out with the South Korean actor, Park Bo-gum. He also released a collaborative dance cover video with Leejung Lee on November 28. The two were seen dancing to Ludacris' What’s your fantasy?, which was posted on the choreographer's Instagram account.
