On September 6, 2014, actor Kwak Si-yang issued a public apology on his personal social media account in response to the portrayal of his character in the SBS drama Good Partner, which aired on the same day. Kwak's guest appearance in the drama's twelfth episode, where he played the role of a husband who abuses his wife, triggered significant negative reactions from the audience.
Kwak Si-yang portrayed Cheon Hwan-seo, a husband who physically abused his wife, Yoo Ji-young, played by Park Ah-in. His character further fueled viewers' anger by threatening Jang Na-ra’s character, Cha Eun-kyung, when the lawyers failed to comply with his demands.

Before Kwak Si-yang, Ji Seung-hyun, another star of Good Partner, publicly apologized twice. On August 25, 2024, he delivered an apology through the show's YouTube channel and on SBS's Instagram. Ji Seung-hyun expressed deep remorse to Jang Na Ra's character, Cha Eun Kyung, acknowledging the pain caused by his character's affair. He also apologized to Han Jae Yi's character, Choi Sa Ra, and the audience, recognizing that the storyline may have upset them.
