On January 7, 2025, GOT7 unveiled the promotional schedule for their upcoming mini-album, Winter Heptagon, through the official X account. The forthcoming releases will include multiple content, including concept photos of different versions, a highlight medley, a music video teaser, a track list, and others.
The record will be released on January 20, 2025. It will be dropped and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. The physical album will be available in two versions: Winter and Heptagon. The band announced on December 20, 2024, that they would return with the 12th mini album through the official X (formerly Twitter) account.

GOT7 featured seven members— Jay B, Jackson, Mark, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. They made their official debut with the first extended play, Got It? in January 2014.
It was released through JYP Entertainment and KT Music. The record was produced by J.Y. Park "The Asian Soul." It featured six tracks: Hello, Girls Girls Girls, I Like You, Follow Me, Like Oh, and Playground.
Subsequently, the record achieved commercial success, reaching the No.1 position on the Billboards' World Albums Chart and peaking at second place on the Gaon Album Chart.
The band went on to make their official music show debut in January 2014 at Mnet's M Countdown. They delivered a great performance on their debut single, Girls Girls Girls.

The seven-member band officially departed from JYP Entertainment in January 2021 after the expiration of their exclusive contract with the agency.
