On August 2, 2024, BTS leader Kim Nam-joon, also known as RM, sparked excitement among fans when clips of him rehearsing at the 2024 Hwacheon Tomato Festival went viral.
The BTS rapper, who is currently serving in the South Korean military as a member of the 15th Infantry Division's military band, was seen playing the saxophone, much to the delight of his fans.
Fans who previously witnessed Namjoon playing saxophone to celebrate his bandmate's military discharge were thrilled to see him perform again. The idol had previously gone viral for playing BTS's song Dynamite on his saxophone when Jin was discharged from his military service.

A user on X, @hobii_hearteu, expressed their joy at seeing Namjoon with the instrument again, commenting,
"He is back with the saxophone. Sir in his military era. Looking fine as always."
Fans also remarked on how great the rapper looked and added that they were happy to see this side of the idol:

BTS' RM posts an Instagram update with military bandmates and saxophone performance
As photos of Namjoon rehearsing for the 2024 Hwacheon Tomato Festival circulated online, the idol personally updated fans about the same. He posted two Instagram stories: one showing him and his bandmates traveling to the festival in a vehicle and the other capturing him playing the saxophone in his uniform at the festival.
He captioned the latter,
"Victory no matter what."
For those who are unaware, The Hwacheon Tomato Festival was initiated in 2003 in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, and takes place every August in Sachang-ri, Sanae-myeon, Hwacheon-gun.
This annual event is organized by the Hwacheon Tomato Festival Promotion Committee and is supported by Hwacheon-gun, the Hwacheon Tomato Farming Association, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
The festival kicks off with festivities, including Pungmulnori, a traditional Korean folk performance where locals celebrate together, and a tomato-themed singing contest. Attendees can enjoy a variety of tomato-centric attractions, highlighting the region's key agricultural product.
